I went through a lot of trouble to protect my brother (I forget his name) in hells kitchen, and eliminated all the MiB's who were attacking him. But when I was captured by Navara, I was informed my Dadelus that he died anyway. However, from listening to messages here and reading some strategy guides, apparently it is possible to save his life. Having beaten the game a while ago, I was wondering what happened if you did save his life, as well as how to do it. I was debating wether or not to play through the game again, and the replayability would. be increased if there were additional story elements with your brother if he survived. Please someone tell me what I did wrong and if it makes much of an impact on the game.

He will live then. You get to see him again in Hong Kong. There are many ways to play DX a second time and have it quite abit different then the first time. Go to it!

If you don't want to die, you can fight the MIB, but don't exit through the window, leave through the front door, and your brother will live.

Drat, I wish I had known this. I did drop all of the MIBs in the apartment; but it did seem, uh, disturbingly "wimpy" to be pushed out the window, while Paul exitted in the other direction. It would have been more interesting keeping the brother character around. But I always play a great game more than once.

Its not really that great - its just an extra friendly face in Hong Kong besides Jaime and Alex - oops. Ive said too much.

No. Hide in the closet. Paul can beat them all! (he's invulnerable) Just make say he's okay and he won't die.

One sure way to save Paul is to leave the 'Ton through the front door. A lot of things in Deus Ex are triggered by going through doorways. Go through the front door of the 'Ton (shooting your way out) and Paul is saved - step one foot out the fire escape and Paul dies. You can clear the whole 'Ton and then leave through the fire escape, and he dies.
Similar stuff at Castle Clinton. Go through the back way and the game thinks you are a saint - enter or leave through the front and you're a brutal killer.
