Anyone else think that modern horror movies kinda suck?
They're in vulnerable position right now. It's hard to be in compete with present time real ones in this regard.

I`ve seen Leave The World Behind.
It was ok, regular but watchable.

I like Eggers movies, which aren't exactly horror, but more like mystery stories, like Edgar Allen Poe stories; but I like those as well as any horror-adjacent movies in any era.

Tried Counterpart (series). Really dull (2.5 episodes in), not a single interesting character.
Watched Revenge of the Sith (haven't watched since its release). Decent perhaps but not great, 6/10, i think i still like the first movie best when it comes to the Prequels, they're super cartoony and it doesn't translate that great to live action, its gets really corny, especially The Emperor, lol.. he's awful. Clone Wars (series) is way better and perhaps the best Star Wars.

I watched Saltburn last night and it was not what I expected. It was interesting and shocking at times but it started to lose momentum and intrigue towards the end. In fact the ending scenes reminded me of the old Scooby Doo cartoons where the villian is revealed and all the party tricks are explained as if the watcher isn't very smart.
Overall I felt that there were elements of Harry Potter mixed with Clockwork Orange, with bits of The Great Gatsby, and sprinkled with the political ideology of 'eat the rich'. There was a bit of unspoken commentary about the royal families of the UK as well. I think that if they had not explained so much in the end I would have liked it much more. The shocking parts seemed shocking just to be shocking but maybe I'm just getting older and don't find the things people do all that shocking any longer. The biggest problem with the film is that even though you get to know the characters you don't end up liking them, in the same way you might like Downton Abbey character, so the story isn't as strong as it could be.
I'd definitely recommend watching it though, but without the kids in the room, or even in the house.

Cool urban exploration video of an abandoned Soviet observatory command center in Armenia.

Oppenheimer, lots of personal insight from Oppie. More drama than expected. Some scenes are not for the young public.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the most action happens in the intro, to bad you can tell where they used CGI to rejuvenate Harrison Ford's face.
Looks unnatural. There are some tricks that Ford couldn't do without extensive CGI when panning out in the intro.
Unfortunately the action in general was toned down from the rest of the movie, I know you can't ask Ford to do much jumping right now (and there are always stunts anyway).
I would rate this movie lower than Kingdom of the Crystal skull.
The Expendables 4, was expendable after all, interesting but not top of line. Maybe number 2 was superior, if you can say that after all.

I watched "Stalker". Turns out it is a horror movie where the horror is existentialism. Never seen such a grimy dirty run down wallowing in filth (literally not figuratively) movie before. Also the horror part never happens.
Interesting exploration video, Dema. Is that the dish used in the Bond film?

The (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecibo_Observatory) Arecibo Observatory was the one used in the Bond film Golden Eye. It was a lot bigger, the largest dish in the world by far, but the central hanging part of it collapsed a few years ago.

Ah Goldeneye good memories.
"Who's strangling the cat?"
"Who's str..., Irina, take a hike!"
The Equalizer 3, well there is a lot of Italian dialogue and setting, I enjoyed it, made me home sick, wanting to go back to Italy. Anyway the action is paced differently than the other Equalizers movies, but still enjoyable. Bad guys bite the dust again.
