On Prime, I have to admit: I'm watching Babylon 5 again. (I do like it a lot.)

Corner Gas. 6 seasons, and one movie.
It's adorable and a little heartwarming to me that you're watching Corner Gas. I wouldn't exactly say it's one of our most beloved series, but I guess that depends on who you ask. It was popular among boomers when it aired. Then again, we don't have that many beloved shows, so maybe it is! I thought it was funny when they told Michael Buble he couldn't play at the jazz festival because his music was too adult contemporary.

Well it had several "Kids in the Hall" guest stars in it. That was a bit of a boomer show. I like the hometown feel and the dry humor. It's easy to fall for the characters. They are like the folks you know, or used to, before the world went to hell. It's comforting recalling what everyone was like before collective insanity sank in.
Speaking of insanity, I saw some wallpaper (no not yellow) on a meme today, of red biplanes that I had never seen before, on facebook of all places. I come home and watch a forty year old episode of "Hammer House of Horror" and there it is again. What are the fucking odds? To never see a wallpaper all your life and then see it twice in one day and from very disparate circumstances and decades? It was passing odd only you don't exactly pass do you? It sticks with you like a duplicate of a puzzle piece that nevertheless fits in two separate places. Move along, nothing to see here.

Black Mirror, natch.
I haven't seen all of season 7 but so far so good. Just seen EP4, which for many of the forum denizens will be a MINE of references.
Charlie Brooker spoke to me.

I'm watching the Fifth Element again. Such a great movie.

The Fifth Element is still well worth it.

Edit: I just went and bolded the ones I liked best.
I remember hating No Country for Old Men when it came out, and my mind is well and truly changed now. It's a good film.
I remember liking Twelve Monkeys, but only knew about the plot twist. I did not know it was a Terry Gilliam, and the quirky style was unexpected and kind of spoiled it for me.
I did not remember The Abyss and it was a huge surprise how much I enjoyed it. No memories of the ending, incredibly well filmed, and much better than Aliens IMO.
Culloden is a fantastic concept. A mockumentary set in the 18th Century at the battle of Culloden. I just love seeing the vox pops. :laff:

I was also trying to track down a movie called Sorcerer for ages. It looked intriguing from the poster art:

Whenever I see that poster I think "get the hell out of the way because he needs to floor it". It's been so long since I've seen it I've forgotten why that person is in the damn way but Christ what a dumbass.
Other than Black Mirror I haven't seen anything spectacular. Oh the last one pissed me off though. Monetizing brain function is so corporate America. And the smarmy obliviousness of all the upgrades grates on my soul with realism. I saw it on Netflix which also does underhanded shit like making it nearly impossible to unsubscribe. Always get those services through Roku if possible. They have an onscreen way to unsubscribe and with the wonkiness of it's loading and staying on stream long enough to watch a movie you may well dump them for spells. It's not like they have Reacher or The last of us anyway.

Die Alone. It has everything I like. Zombie end of the world survivalist mystery. I wasn't prepared for the impact the ending would have on me. I saw part of it coming but not all of it. I may be slipping or they may have unfolded things just right. Either way it left me stunned in a good way. It turned out to be a love story. Just not a conventional one in any sense. One of the best movies I've seen in quite some time.
