What if Eidos wanted to expand the Thief genre... - by Gambit

I guess First Person Sneaker are still a good idea :)
though a little mixture of City Simulation could be even more nice.
Imagine Garrett doing thievery business, having to confront other thief faction like "The Downwinders" or doing business with them, or you could just take-over their business by some quest and eventually Garrett will have no worries about paying his rent :p
Or perhaps taking advantage of another faction such as the Hammerites and the Pagans who were constantly fighting in the city, by doing sub-mission. :laff:

I had nightmares this evening. On a blacksmith's table I... ...Pagan Sabre (poisened!) -- Hammerite Officer's Sword (Undead Bonus)"
Was the nightmare bit that you can't spell even in your dreams? :p
A CRPG would work, but it being in the "Thief" universe and all would the Thief be special somehow?

Well, I'm a little muzzy at the moment due to a cold and I didn't check everything with the dictionary, but I'm still not sure where you found a typo. Or more. :erg:

How about a Thief themed kart racing game?
Oh, wait.
Thiefcart what the best thing ever.

Beleg: "poisoned" ...and that's it.:weird:
Though SubjEff's post is just odd on its own.:p

By the way, total aside here, have anybody ever actually tried to spell in their dreams? It's damn near impossible.
I remember dreaming about a quarter and trying to spell QUARTER one freaking letter at a time (that is, I tried to read the word on the face one letter at a time); I could just do it with each letter, but I couldn't get even 2 letters in a row to stay in place without them changing into other letters! Then I looked at the whole word when I was done and it was like OXUIDP, lol. Maybe somebody can pull it off, but apparently our visual memory isn't powerful enough to handle holding more than 1 or 2 letters in place; mine wasn't...

Have you ever seen the film "Waking Life" ?
Very cool animated film about philosophy. It´s very, VERY alternative from mainstream Hollywood but it leaves your jaw open with imagination.
And one of their main plot points is the fact that you can´t spell or read clearly in a dream.
Because someone tell him this curious fact and when he realises that he can´t see clearly any numbers or letters he becomes aware that he is dreaming...

I'm able to read signs like "EXIT" or "EMERGENCY", but only one word from a newspaper headline. Any speeches being made are profound sounding nothingness made of whole words mixed up like Mad Libs from Hell. I see in full color, but hear in mono.
So I guess this campaign needs a Shaman dream warrior, whose surreal experience is more real than the waking experience. Of course, it might be too easy to just make the person an Astral traveler, or dream interpreter. How about dream symbols collected by the dreamer in crystal form and passed into reality as Glyphs? Sorry, too much screwing around. This is scarier than ultra-custom non-historical full-fantasy blades.
Carry on!

the RTS idea would be great. I often thought that would work great in the universe as it could have lots of "races" to play as each with their own hierachy tree or whatever. in addition to pagans and hammers you could have keepers and mechinists. keepers would have the stealth and their "secret creature" would be Garrett. the mechs could build awesome fighting robots but would move slowy near water. their 'secret creature' or super weapon would be a soulforge cathedral that would spread rust gas over a large portion of the play map. the pagans super creature could be the trickster and their second best class could be a victoria.
something to think about . . .
