What if there was a Patreon campaign for Stephen Russell? (please read) - by Ryan Smith

If you're looking to pay SR to voice Garrett himself, you have no legal ground to do so. The Garrett character is the intellectual property of Eidos/EA/whoever owns the IP rights now and I seriously doubt they would let this happen without taking action, especially with the new installment coming out next month, featuring that very character (albeit not voiced by SR, but that doesn't matter from a legal standpoint). Not to mention that SR has already in the past declined requests from this community to voice Garrett for the very reason I cited. Sorry to be a killjoy, but I don't see this happening.

If SR says no *this* time, then that's one thing. If the owner of the IP rights says no, that's all right as well. But let's wait until we have the 50 votes and then an answer from either SR or the IP owner before we decide that all this won't work. You might be surprised. When you seriously doubt something like this, you're not even sure if it's *not* going to work. What if it did work and exceed all our expectations? How awesome would that be?
It's better to have asked and be told no than not even knowing if we can do it because we never even tried.

But that's what Yandros is saying - the question has been asked. And the answer was no. The precedent has been set. EM is likely going to protect their IP, especially after the shitstorm they dealt with from choosing a different voice actor for Garrett. There's no motivation for them to say yes to any request like this. There's nothing in it for them. You don't spend millions of dollars on an IP and then just let someone else borrow it for free.

Oh sure, agreed, there's no harm in running the campaign and asking, on the tiny chance you get permission. I'm just saying don't expect it, which maybe you didn't in the first place.

Maybe Bethesda can hire him as a legendary "main protagonist" khajiit thief for Elder Scrolls - Elsewyre.
