My bad, your right.
No sweat. You've done so much for the community, it can easily be forgiven. Although Heist Society is going on my playlist anyway just because it's been recommended several times lately.

Yes, definitely put Heist Society on your to play list, it's one seriously good mansion mission, and IIRC there is significant differences in game play on the higher difficulties as well, I think it's more of a keyhunt whereas on lower difficulties you can pick open most of the doors, but don't let the word keyhunt put you off, it's not that evil a keyhunt as some others I can mention.

I thought the whole point of these switches to access secret areas was to make them difficult to find, you know sort of secret like....

I'll tell you by secret (but hush, not a word to anyone!) that some people prefer de Polichinelle-type of secrets. These secrets still provide one with a sense of importance but simultaneously are not dangerous/tedious to maintain.

If a player finds a secret door (especially if he/she knows it has to be opened to complete the mission), but can't open it because the switch is tiny and far too well hidden, then the result is frustration. Although it is not easy for a FM author to strike a good balance between visibility and hiding when placing a switch, there are some authors who IMHO overdo it on easiest difficulty levels. A better approach might be to place a switch where most players will look on easiest difficulty, but in better hiding spots on higher difficulties. That way, the author would also improve replayability of a mission.
And generally speaking, frustration is something that really bothers me in FMs. That's not why I play them, but rather why I stop playing some of them.

Same for me, bauchlein.. I tend to consult a walkthrough when I get stuck, but after a while, if I'm just reading more than playing.. I will usually skip on to another FM instead. I'd much rather play than read about them.
