And don't spout off your ill informed opinions. Sounds like you work for the type of outfit where people might exchange glances and have you shot.
No, thats how the military is portrayed in movies. In reality the culture is more like playing on the High School Football team

Nerdrage. Thats the kind of reaction that brings me a chuckle.
By that same note, the same people who go around talking shit about how they'd "shoot" or "beat the crap out of" everyone they don't like are frequently the people least capable of doing it. The people who can typically have had a lot of discretion trained into them about it. For example, if I'm on my own time and making use of my conceal carry permit, not even my friends will know that I even own a weapon unless(god forbid) we end up in a situation where I'm about to use it.

After reading his BS in this thread, I'd shoot him. What a prick.
The other reason not to say stuff like.....should you ever end up in a violent self defense situation in real life, your internet records have a good chance of being subjected to a subpoena. It can easily be used to try to convince a jury that you actually are the kind of asshole who would stab/shoot/assault people just because they piss you off.

That doesn't mean we can't hope for you to get hit by a car or something.
CCCToad on 17/6/2011 at 06:52
And put a dent in somebody's perfectly good car? It would be a waste.

Well I'm late to the party, but that's nothing new.
Last year I changed jobs from being the lead developer for a small design studio to the senior developer for a global software company primarily focussing on maintenance software for some goddamn huge clients. It's keeping me ridiculously busy (which is why I'm not around here much any more) but it is legitimately good fun.

If you get enjoyment out of your job that's a great thing David. There are so many things I've done, or could have done, that were just death to the soul. There were a couple of guys at med school who previously working in the City (of London) making more than they probably ever will as medics, but they said the work was just soul destroying.
There's a guy at work now who is coming up to the end of his first year as a junior doc who used to make a ton of money in banking, but he said the travelling (sometimes 8 hrs a day) and the hours at work took such a toll he switched because he thought he'd be dead in 5 years if he continued. So he's now doing a job were you often only get 2 weekends off a month, do 12hr shifts (some overnight), mediocre pay and the occasional punch from an idiot in A&E!
But he feels better for it. :D

I'm unemployed. I've had a few retail positions in the past, but nobody wants to hire me. Ever since I was forced to move last March, I could not get one interview this whole time. I'm stuck living with my family until I can get another job. :(

So now I am working with for him, as part of a small (not even platoon sized) advisory team with a district police chief.
So to sum up: Toad is a gopher for a pig.

I'd like to think that if you do end up going to law school, at some point during your second year when you take evidence, you'll have a sudden pang where you'll remember that you wrote this and you'll suddenly realize how full of shit you've been these many years.
But I somehow doubt it.
