I'm an anaesthetist . . .
I love anaesthetists - they always give me an opportunity to get a good night's sleep. Thank you!
I've been stitched up . . . again (no offence, Stitch). I'm unemployed . . . again. I'm about to be homeless . . . again! But this time around I'm going for Jobseeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit so hopefully it will be temporary and not too painful. I thought I might be retiring soon but I think they've just extended the working life.

Master's student at music college. Some paid gigs plus one afternoon a week of teaching. But mostly a student; I'm mainly living off a research grant.

NORAD Aerospace Control Operator for the Canadian Forces. Been trying to move over to the teaching side and I just spent a month augmenting at the training school, so things are looking good.
Insert obligatory "Canada has a military?" joke here.

It's not exactly a brag to say you work in the riveting world of insurance.
Certainly not in Queensland this year it's not...
Myself, I have a degree in winemaking (oenology), worked in a couple of wineries, didn't really take. Now I'm the winebuyer/sommelier for a fine wine store in melbourne. I'll probably go back to uni next year to do some kind of postgrad research in botany though.

Am currently finishing a PhD in sat-nav software, modelling the orbits of the GPS satellites to enable quicker position fixes. My previous job was fun in theory (calibrating GMT to make sure it didn't drift away from UTC by too much) but there's only so much that an atomic clock can go wrong before you send it back to the manufacturers.
Am about to start a job with ST-Ericsson, helping write their GPS software for mobile phones. Will be a big learning curve as I only have experience with proof-of-concept stuff and desktop PCs, but hey you only live once :)

I work as a Machinist in a job shop, with lots of welding and fabricating thrown in.

Although my job involves other things the biggest portion is involved with software, electronics, database and web development. It's great when everything ties together and involves products that cross different technologies. It's frustrating when you end up working on ten different projects at once, but I guess that's a fact of life.
It's really interesting to see the diverse mix of occupations (jobs or otherwise) that people have here.

It actually makes me feel a little underwhelmed with my own job, considering how interesting so many other careers around here seem.

I believe you. I know you are straight forward and honest, at least as honest as a lawyer can be. :D How about a video of your performance(s)?
