What is your opinion, what is THE hardest level in Thief 1 & 2? At any level. - by Nefarius

So, what is the most hardest level you found in thief 1 & 2?
Why makes it so hard? In what difficulty?
Me, personally, it might be in thief 1, maybe the haunted cathedral, at the expert level, cause:
a) it is so friking scary sometimes :D
b) I run out fire arrwos, water and holywater to shoot zombies with, and Im too lazy to mislead them.
and in thief 2, it is the Bank level, at the expert level, of course ;) and its hard just for that it is so long :P and I run out
water arrows :)

The TMA Demo. "The Univited Guest" On expert it is a real bear. Those guards can hear a gnat fart a hundred yards away through a stone wall.

The Bank, playing on expert. Mostly because I went in through the basement and didn't want to waste all of my water arrows early in the mission... dodging all those robots... *shudder*
I wimped out and didn't play The Dark Project on Expert.

Sabotage at Soulforge on Expert. Or maybe it's just the most tedious. Second would be the Bank. Also on Expert.

Bank in T:MA. Definitely.
Easiest? Bafford in T:G

So far, for me it would definitely be the bank from TMA. That was hard.
I intensely disliked the layout of "The sword" from TDP(G) though. It took me hours to find my way through the upper levels. I also disliked the thieves guild below the casino for the same reason.
Return to the cathedral wasn't easy, but it wasn't insanely difficult either.
I am presently on the trip through the lost city in TMA, and while it isn't particularly difficult, talk about tedious! I have actually taken a few days break from playing because of how bored I am with this level.

Well, if you equate difficultly with time, for me it would undoubtly be Guild. If you gauge difficultly with attempts, it could be Soulforge or RTC. If you gauge it with moral fortitude and courage, it's the first half of Cragscleft, Bonehoard, THC, or RTC; it takes balls of stainless steel, and a sword named Green Destiny, to handle those four undead missions. Probably a couple stiff drinks, too. Dude, those were tough (Cradle is also tough).
I thought Bank wasn't all that bad. It was highly impressive and exciting, and takes quite a bit of time, but isn't all that "difficult". There are so many shadows to hide in, it's just a matter of time to clear the level out; an excercise in precision rather than art. Fire arrows and mines don't propagate sound all that far.
Life of the City/Uninvited Guest were too interesting and just plain out fun to be "difficult". Expansive, yes; time consuming, sure; awe inspiring and confusing, absolutely. Just not difficult.

I think the bank, because of the tile floors, they are very noisy. And of course, it is a very long level.

I actually never finished the Haunted Cathedral -- the only mission I never finished -- after spending hours on it, getting into every room I thought, reading everything, and still not knowing what to do. I finally got through it by a now oldhat cheat (propping the front doors open with a skull), but at the time I thought I was clever to figure it out by myself.

Hands down, hardest mission's First City Bank and Trust. Playing through there while trying to ghost was a living hell.
