I have no idea how many times I reloaded Bonehoard from save, but I didn't think it was really all that hard. Honestly, after all the hype I heard about it, it kind of dissapointed me. (Thankfully RTC fully lives up to it's reputation). I thought the first cathedral mission was harder than Bonehoard. Although I will admit, that Burricks can be a major pain in the ass sometimes.
My only real problem playing Bonehoard was the layout being a tad confusing.

Overall, I'd say the Bank, but the Turret Room in Soulforge gave me more trouble than anywhere.

I found ghosting Shipping & Receiving difficult - I ended up being frustrated and giving up. Souforge is huge and daunting, but not that difficult. I found Bank a fun map but it always seems to be the mission in my quicksave so I'm always playing it... I found the Lost City quite hard too.
There are a lot of easy missions to choose from - Bafford, Cragscleft, Assasins, Framed etc.

referring to your link.....by the def. you gave, iron man is restarting if you fail. No mid-mission saves. Are there any other requirements? I have never saved in a Thief game mid-mission. Are you ghosting, or doing another challenge? I feel saving in a mission in Thief ruins the point of the game.

I'd have to agree with MM: Down in the Bonehoard! Most difficult fm, however, was "Midday Escape"!!! WAY beyond difficult!! :sweat:

Not to iron-man. You are however allowed to save, but you must quit the game immediately afterwards. You are only allowed to load that save the next time you start up the game. In essence this would be the same as pausing the game.

For me, in T1, the most difficult levels are "Thieves Guild" and "Escape!", while in T2, the most diffcult level is "Shipping... and Receiving" in expert.
Strangely, most T2 levels are not that difficult, if you are patient when playing.

I found the Return to the Catherdral the hardest stage on Expert, mostly because of all the crap you have to do for Murus. Plus I couldn't find the armory at the end and I ended up fighting about every single enemy in existance on the map looking for it.
The most difficult in Theif 2? The stage near the end where nobody can see you and you can't kill or blackjack anyone. That stage was a bear.

Hardest for me in T1 was Escape! Hardest in T2 the first time around was Kidnapping. There were just so many damn mechanists and security machines. CAsing the Joint gives it a run for its money, though. I found Soulforge to be one of the most fun levels but also a fairly easy one.
