I've been suuper inactive but it's all been for a good reason - well, I think it's a good reason. I've been doing a lot research and compiling of data (though I'm not even close to the 10% mark) and at this point I'm little more than tired and worried that my work may not be as fruitful as I'd hoped.
So, I wanted to ask the most dedicated of fans of Thief (I didn't wanna put this in Thief Series Discussion because I'm not sure if it belongs there) if this is something that they think would be successful. There's a lot of wonderful FanAuthors here and the missions I've played and been the most zen-like experience I could ever feel.
However, I have another love that I want to share and I've been desiring to make it a reality ever since . . . oh, I'd say around 2005 or so. That love in particular is text-based roleplaying, the joy of writing a plot with another person and seeing it play out into a illustrious story line! However . . . the distinct lack of known members in such a fandom has made me feel like it's a useless dream. Until now, that is - I actually found that people DO roleplay characters of Thief and have even created some impressive original characters.
So, I want to ask if anyone here has ever been interested in a roleplay site about Thief?
You could say 'Just go to Fanfiction.Net' - but I've been there for a long time. It's usually stayed around 100-110 stories . . . which means it hasn't really changed in 10 years xD That's depressing as hell lol
Let me know if you're interested in my progress so far and I'll send you what I've got (If I'm allowed, I'd like to post the link here, but I dunno how that goes). Also, in a bid to find the background image that you'll see (slightly edited to match the motif of the site I was going for) can someone tell me who made that? I had it on my computer for QUITE a while and I can't seem to find the original artist.
Thank you very much and I apologize if I may be overstepping my bounds but suggesting something like this. I am a very big fan but . . . I'm just gonna admit - making fan missions is hard and my talent lies in writing, art and voicing (kinda.)

The way I see it, there isn't a whole lot of creativity flowing through 'ol TTLG these days. I still have faith in ThiefGen, because while it may be a bit dormant, there is still relative calm and creative people lurking. GenGame.... maybe. :)

you know there is creativity, its just not flowing through the "ol ttlg" anymore as you put it. A lot of us just come here for discussion these days. We are old and set in our ways now.

To hell with dorkiness, I haven't had a good RP experience in far too long.
I'd probably play along -- at least if it was centered more on the player experience than on the post-hoc literary aspects (I don't care about fan fiction).

Let me know if this is breaking any rules. I'm going at a slow pace in making the site but I'm pretty much making sure all the pieces of the site are clean and cut - ready for any semi-canon or original use and we'll be taking the reigns of the story from the beginning of Thief and going from there.
I have ideas for 'History of The City' segments that will delve deeper into the past but that's just an idea at this point xD
Also, most - if not all info - is from the Wiki so pardon if anything is off. I'm doing this alone right now xP
