Army? Empire? Iron Rule?
Since when did the Hammers become the Soviet Union? :p
one has to remember that this takes place a full generation before anything of thief1 takes place
there's reasons why there are no mention of things in future documents

...there is no way is anyone going to leak any information.
OUCH!!!
New Horizon on 26/3/2006 at 23:19
Hmmm, kind of rude to be leaking that type of information really.

I didn't think what I said was that bad! If it was it's more likely that I've grown bitter over the weekend... it's been like shopping list objectives in Real Life (tm) !
BTW I don't consider an official announcement by the project lead to be a leak. Maybe some people do, and if they do, I didn't mean it in that sense.

bah you almost had me when i saw the 'play a ghost' thing in the early replies...BAH! :D

@ Macsen. -- Edit-- Don't get me wrong Macsen (I know it is easy to be offended when you've been working diligently on a project for so long), but I am greatly looking forward to this game and still actually hope to contribute to the Imperium but way of some voice acting! Probably just some small stuff. ;) But even if I have reservations about the story - like the mediocre T2X - a lot of people
won't. So stay cool.
The plot isn't mine so I'm not 'offended' at all, I just don't understand what the ridiculous leadup you're talking about
is.
T2X story suffered I think because it was too small scale, but I think the HI is a bit too epic. I tried to count the number of characters in it and run out of fingers (on hands and feet).

Too small? It seemed just about right. If you keep getting bigger and bigger 'big bads' (to use a Buffy expression) it starts to get cheesy.

The Hammerite imperium will be weird because if Garrett's not around to keep the balence then the entire pagan civilisation will be completely wiped from the face of the earth. that is unless the pagans go into hiding because in t1 and t2 the pagans had no weapons so 50 years before that what protection will they have? Also Hammers in those times didn't require the help of thieves and they would kill any on sight so how can they trust a ...Spy thief? Despite this I think it looks like it will be a good game and will be another glorious thief chapter but I don't think it will match t2x which is a brill FM game.:thumb: I disagree that t2x was 'cheesy' I think the train level and the hammerite level were great and the cure was excellent (even though it resembled the cradle a lot) The storyline was well thought out but not as good as the OM's storylines.

@Moggort
Well to quote Alexius

The main character is an Imperial Acolyte, a Sentinel of the Hammerite Army and the Hammerite Empire that holds 3 continents under its fist of iron rule.
The gameplay is full of sneaky-ness, and yes....the main character isn't a thief but instead a “A sneaky Hammerite” like DarthMRN put it.
A spy/assassin/messenger that has to sneak just as much as a thief through enemy territory since he's not heavily armed.
So NOT a thife but a Hammerite with special skills, or that´s the way i understand it :erg:

Besides, I wasn't pestering. I was asking nicely and arguing how and why they could safely make an exception for me whitout compromising their project.
One wonders if a person that asks others to betray trust can himself be trusted? Just how safe an exception would such a person be?
Cheers,
Martek
