What do you think, why is Deus Ex so great?
Which are the game elements that let you play again and again?
I post this topic, because I´m trying to find out, which aspects DX2 (Or give it another name, that doesn´t matter) should not be lacking. Here are my favourite DX charakteristics:
1.)The game simply has STYLE (language,conversations...)
2.)It´s a great adventure.Actually I think it is even more action adventure than the so-called action adventures.I don´t know, how you think about it, but I really loved the game for levels like Unatco HQ, Versa Life or Hong Kong market, when you just stroll around speaking to people, annoying the MIB with silly conversation...

3.)...Atmosphere-I think one word is enough!
4.)Then of course the freedom in playing style and solving problems, although this could still be optimized.
5.)The great and well-thought-of story.(I´m still not absolutely convinced that you can´t use it again.

6.)Cool charakter design. People with their own tics and story.
7.)Last but not least: mostly human foes. This might sound a little funny, but I prefer fighting against human or human-similar adversaries.

I think the one thing that seperates Deus Ex from being just a good game and being a masterpiece is the interactivness.
You can use/turn on/off/eat/read/break/set fire to just about everything in the game. It's the closest to the real world any game has gotton so far.
I love how you can go into a bar, smoke cigarettes, drink various alcoholic beverages, talk to people, play a game of pool, and go into the bathroom, flush the toilet and wash your hands.

I thought the conversations were terrible. I dont know why. I mean, i enjoyed the long cutscenes, but it wasnt that entertaining when there is next-to-NO emotion in the voice acting.
