i kinda want to find the mission that has the most distance traveled in one direction=no double backing to make it seem longer
i am curious what might be the mission with the most distance traveled, hope to see some good replays so i can try them and see
if i had to guess i would say a bbb's missions might be it but not sure/like three crowns/etc
single mission only,no adding up all the parts to make it longer
the whole reason i ask this is i would love to see a contest where you got to build a mission that is about distance/theme/idea of what it would be is up to you
i always wanted to travel good distances in a thief mission but usually get a square :(
of course it would have to be wide enough not to obviously notice the sides of inviso walls on sides of map
an idea would be a hiking trail/a city street/etc

If you would consider the "Keeper of the Prophecies"-Kampaign as several independent missions, in example the missions "Enterprise" and "Hallucinations" are extremely large, a good distance can be traveled in these missions. The first said mission may be a little frustrating because of the seemingly endless corridors, but the storytelling in these missions is one of the best out there. :cheeky:
There is another large mission out there which contains a long march: The mission, where Garrett has been killed and haunts the swampland and forests, trying to find out who killed him. Maybe someone recognizes this mission.
Most missions are shaped like a "typical square". I assume that hose-formed missions would be boring to explore, just because of the linear gameplay. :erg:

I would've add "King's Story" to that most-distance traveled list, but I don't think it would count since the mission is split into two parts due to Dark Engine limits (presumambly).
On the other hand - for the distance travel I can think of "Willow Island" FM.

Sounds like
"Relic - Left for Dead"

i guess i am curious how long can a map be made and how wide could it be to still not feel like a alleyway=kinda size
as i think a mission where you just travel the limits of dark engine would be interesting, like taking a hike and exploring a entire canyon/river/caves
but each area can lead into another while going deeper into map weather up and down or a ray direction
has anyone every tryed to make a super long made that is not that wide? just to see the limits
the idea's i have for a long map are all new compared to what we already know about thief, like having a map where you can ride a bike along a coast/etc
deep journey into the center of the earth
also thank you all who posted so far,but you might want to check out bbb's missions as he has some that you can travel pretty far in one mission
battling you way out of hell and working toward heaven=could be more of a vertical mission
etc, just wonder what you all think

The limits of the editor are -1000 to 1000 in all three directions.

With NewDark it's -2000 to 2000

Some of Cardia's missions are HUGE. I don't remember the names of the large ones because, honestly, I don't like the really large, open mission style. You can prolly find them (

I would submit Lord Alan's Factory. From top to bottom that's the longest distance and I think the hugest mission I have ever played.

Damsel in Distress for T2 is a huge one due to a bit of overscaling. Anyway, it's a great one to have a big big walk.

Mines of Margoth would also qualify.
