Phil K and Habersham : Cloudbreak (really thiefy groove, just wait, the track is long and the thiefy tones are not in the beginning yet) - from 1:50, aaand this is not the typical house track there is variety so just listen

listening now... I normally hear alot of trance, like the one from Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Airwave, and many more groups i´ve got, i don´t hear much house, but it happens that some house producions fits well with some thief 1 and quake 1 atmospheres.

I´ve been listening to Ulf Soderberg, this artist got some nice dark musics, he´s productions could be used in thief missions:)
It already has! :D I used some of his music in DP2.

Kammarheit is great
Thoroughly agree - great. dark, mood music. Has any of his music been used in an FM?

Not yet to my knowledge, but I plan to use some Kammarheit as well as Sephiroth in my much-delayed UNPC mission.

"Thick as Thieves" by Kasabian . .. though I think it's mainly just because of the title. I don't know, the song itself really isn't Thief-like at all, but for some reason I don't think it would sound out of place somewhere in there. . .maybe as music for the ending credits for an FM or something. Anyway, for probably that first reason I always think of Thief whenever I hear that song.

Some of my favs:
Lustmord - Heresy, Carbon/Core, Stalker (with Robert Rich)
Lull - Continue, Cold summer
Inade - Aldebaran
Raison D'etre - Metamorphyses
Jeff Greinke - Cities in fog
Mostly slow, bordering subliminal dark ambient. I'm almost positive that Lustmord has used some of the same stock sounds in several of his albums as Eric Brosius in Thief. The ominously chanting monks take me back to a hammerite cathedral every time.

i listen to music non stop while building, so levels remind me of songs i played while i built them. third times the charm was built listening to the decemberist's album hazards of love among others. and my current mission has been mostly m. ward, wilco, grizzly bear in the play list. to set the building mood for way of the sword it was wu tang clan. i have a very eclectic ipod.

I've been listening to the terminator salvation soundtrack the last few days myself. 'Of Wolf and Man' by Metallica is a good one for a pagan vibe as well.
