More and more true every day! :D

This may be unthiefish, but I say we need more fire! Better fire, too! If I fire a fire arrow (how's that for a redundancy?) and it hits a wooden beam/carpet/burnable surface/object, it should begin to burn! Not only would it make people consider their shots more, especially with such dangerous weapons; but it would make for an excellent distraction.
I mean, come on, which would distract you more? A weird sound a few meters away, or the sight of a stairwell catching on fire? :thumb:

That's closer to the devs' original intent: Things were supposed to burn. It didn't happen. I'd like to see it brought in, now.

Oh, thanks for these, that's really interesting.

So if the DO decide to make Thief IV, they should...*long post alert*
You might like The Dark Mod then, as we've done all but three (possibly 4) of the things on your list. :)
(before someone asks, we don't have keyhole peeping or equipment upgrades; and I'm not 100% sure about stealing arrows or edible food)

A new dark engine
A multiplayer system that works

Yeah, I never like when things are provided for me though. So you should either have to go on a mini mission to find an extra set of clothes left in some room or locker room for disguise, or just be able to knock out a npc and take all of their clothes and wear them.
That way you could pick who to be disguised as. Even a woman. lol
Or a guard. Then you start walking a beat that leads you to your destintion and Benny shows up and starts talking to you. XD
Benny: "New on the force eh?"
Garrett: "Uh.. yeah. Yeah I just joined up."
Benny: "Well, Watch out for these taffers hiding in the shadows. They just black jack you and steal everything these days. Even your taffin clothes!"
Garret: "Wow, well I'll have to be careful then..."
Extra clothes to wear would rock :thumb:
Fun stuff, Acorn. Plz activate Private Messaging in your User CP.

Oops.
Well, it just seemed so strange to me, you know? Especially since I've never seen door like that in the previous games.

Extra sets of clothes, disguises? There is like half a dozen Hitman games out there! I think the fact that Garrett is the master of lurking in shadows and roof tops and he you know *hides* from people is the thing that appeals us in Thief games. The thrill of sneaking from shadow to shadow past guard patrolling and minding your footsteps at the same time. Yes it is fun to knock out some limo driver in Codename 47 and do nasty things in his clothes but that is another game entirely. I say no to knocked out guards in their identical white boxers in Thief 4! Who's with me!

One thing that was pointed out in Undercover was that a Hammerite Novices are not allowed to speak, which Garrett called "perfect" for his mission. Not only would a disguise have to be pulled off well, but avoiding interaction would have to be possible.
On the other hand, if Thief 4 continued with Garrett, his face is on wanted posters, the City Watch wants to execute him, he had many witnesses that last day, the face of The City was changed overnight, lots of questions and investigations are coming, the Keepers have nowhere to go for a time, there's no glyph magic or glyph-hidden passages or anything anymore...maybe he'd need to wear disguises just so players who don't ghost can walk the streets. :p
