Well actually if you follow the FAQ closely you'll see that the drivers you are running with that video card won't work with T1 at all and possibly not T2 either depending on the video card used. I have a duel 7800 GTX's. I had to back up to the 84.43 drivers to get T1 to work. I left them that way for T2 so had no problems at all. I did have to change my computer to run on 1 processor core whenever I started the game and I reloaded the codecs a couple of times to see the movies but for the most part it was the drivers causing all my problems. I'm running it on XP.

Why is 3.11 there? Is it possible to run Thief on it at all? :weird:
I seriously doubt it, I don't even know if it runs under Win95. I would try it out just for fun, but the only PC I own that has 3.11 installed hasn't been booted in years, and only has a 40MB hard drive (yes, that's MB, not GB). Like others, I'm wondering why it was included in the list but 2000 (the best OS Microsoft has ever released) is not. You'd have more luck getting it running on NT4 than 3.11 I imagine.

I've happily never had many problems running Thief, Thief 2 and SS2 on Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. A few issues with certain versions of nVidia drivers, but never anything major.
It's perfectly possible to get it to run on all versions of Windows, apart from Windows 3.11 (Why is that in the list and Windows 95 and 2000 are not? I'm fairly sure it runs under Windows '95, too. Definitely runs under Win2k.)

It runs under Windows 95, of that I am sure. I ran Thief Dark Project and the Thief II demo with this OS. Is Windows 98 so different from 95? As far as I know they are quite similar...although I got System Shock 1 only to run under 98 properly.:)

I have used 98 and ME in the past, but since I now use XP, my vote went to the XP.

What the heck! I used 3.11 now as a substiture for W2K. :)

I followed in sparhawk's footsteps and voted 3.11 to indicate that I use Windows 2000. Thief 1, 2 and 3 has been running smoothly ever since I got them.

I put 3.11 in the poll as a joke..I didn't put Win2000 in it as it is similar to XP same as I didn't add any of the NT versions of Windows...
I have formatted the HDD and reinstalled Windows and got Thief 2 to run with cut scenes but Thief Gold still crashes....I will try rolling back the vid card drivers and see if that makes any difference..

I should have voted for "What's an OS"

Every computer upgrade or refit makes installing and running Thief so much more difficult. I've given up trying with my new computer, - even trying all the various fixes worked only temporarily. So I've bought an older 2nd-hand one, had 98 installed and it is just for older games, especially Thief. Much better.
