You only need to be over 13 to join. There was no question about humanity.
Hah, Koki made me laugh.

I hate to break it to you, but camera position affects more than just aesthetics.
The best classic western RPG's (Wizardy, Bard's Tale, Dungeon Master, Might & Magic, Eye of the Beholder, Ultima Underworld, even Wasteland to some degree) were first person so feel free to go suck DAC's cock some more.

Yes, you deliberately misinterpreted my words, can we all move on with our lives now?

That's impossible, you don't have one.

New Vegas certainly feels like they were going for a FO2 vibe. That said, between the many simplifications to the mechanics, and the reality that you can ignore VATS totally and play it as an at least acceptable FPS-RPG, it's a far cry from being just a camera swap.

As spoken by someone who mostly plays console "RPGs".
No, the very nature of side quests has nothing to do with challenge, grinding, or fighting retardedly powerful side bosses that come mostly down to reading a game guide and/or luck.
Jesus, the Fallout 3/NV has barely anything to do with classic western RPG as it is and you STILL fail at it. Just how bad are you?
I beat them just fine, just had to go get a companion from the nearby town (Boone). So there was no failing. Did you forget to take your pills today?
I tend to play "console rpgs" these days as I've already beaten most of the good pc rpgs that I've had on my list for ages (Fallout 1 and Planescape Torment recently for example). After quitting WoW after 5 years of play I've been catching up on all the games I missed out on playing the last time round, hence more games on the console end.
My comments were about the change away from allowing soloing which I see as a legitimate way to play in any rpg (whether it be a western rpg or otherwise). If anything, console rpgs make it next to impossible to solo so your comments are irrelevant. PC rpgs tend to go for the more hardcore players and so play styles like soloing are much more common generally. If you had bothered to read all that I said in this thread I was referencing pc rpgs, NOT console. Each is extremely different to each other. You wouldn't go comparing Eye of the beholder to Secret of Mana for example, or Ultima 6 to Final Fantasy 7. Completely different.

What exactly were you unable to do solo in FNV?

Repconn test site was the place where I ran into it. Place to the west of Novac. Earlier I'd said it was a place to the west of Primm, my bad there.
Tried taking it on alone and quickly got slaughtered by a mix of glowing ghouls and others. When I came back with Boone a short while later, was a different story entirely.

Repconn Test Site? Oh wow, that place is easy at a relatively low level. Your character build must've been absolute garbage if you had difficulty making it through there.

Agreed. One of the first places I cleared out.
