Tho I don't like nostalgia critic, something about the guy's presentation and delivery just doesnt quite grasp me, and I have yet to laugh at any of his jokes.
With him I had to watch a few episodes before I got into it. At the time of me coming across his site he had happened to review a few movies I knew of, so I watched a few.
Its not even REMOTELY on the same level of humor as AVGN. Not by a longshot. It has its moments however. I wouldn't even bother looking at any of the other shows hosted on his site other than Nostalgia Chick. The others are quite crappy and annoying.
16 Bit Gems whilst not being that amusing is a damn good show, and a good source for inspiration on what games to play next on consoles/emulators.
Ancient Dos Games I only discovered a week ago. Very good source for both info on old Dos games you may never have played, and for reminding you on the ones you have played (he did a really good episode on System Shock 1 a year ago + an episode on Mechwarrior 2 last week).

Also worth mentioning is a few other series that I have on my hard drive, and intend to try this week. I've got the entire collection of Always Sunny, and I'm looking forward to starting that one. Only seen a few episodes on TV before now but the ones I have seen demonstrate a brand of social humor that's right up my alley.
I also have some South Parks I want to rewatch. That is on hold until I can find someone with a program that will play .mkv files, and before I can start Breaking Bad I need to either find someone who has it on their USB drive or buy it from one of the local Hajji DVD shops.
Anyone got any other suggestions? I need a good thriller or mystery series.

We're currently watching The Hour on BBC. The plot and characters are relatively hackneyed, but it's acted and filmed with fantastic panache. Greatly enjoyable - much more so than the recent Exile with John Simm and Jim Broadbent, which squandered most of its potential.
Also, Oz S4. I can appreciate this series as a forerunner to later HBO greats, and there are lots of good actors in it, but on the whole the writing is much less clever or deep than it thinks, and the overall direction feels like the OTT, "I'm making a point here!" moments of Spike Lee movies. At this point we're mainly watching it for completeness' sake.
I'm also rewatching Band of Brothers, which still holds up really well. Curious about The Pacific, which is waiting for us on the shelf. (And Breaking Bad - I finally got the first season.)

As to the current episode - I turned it off after he'd whined about "people" telling "us", whoever that is, that having arty games means they'll be no fun the fifth time. Who is saying this? Where? Shut up Extra Credits, you're the CCCToad of gaming vids.
I just watched it. Eem, are you having a massive herp derp moment? You know these guys have an email account? An email account visible to all audiences? That they encourage everyone to send them requests for episodes and have, in fact, made several episodes purely because that is what the "people" (aka fans) asked them to do?

Which has nothing to do with this one
And I just finished off the first season of The Walking Dead. Final episode was alright. Not as good as the one prior to it. Overall an excellent first season however.

Not to mention I've never said that ever. I bought Limbo twice didn't I? Please, if you're going to give me shit for stuff I've said, try to make sure I've actually said it. You have more than enough material to work with; you don't need to create more.

Starting watching The Life of Birds because I was in the mood for something soothing before sleeping. Only watched the first episode, and a good part of it was spent on the strange niches flightless birds fill in the New Zealand ecosystem, and how a few species have become extinct, but when you look at a strange stupid looking critter like this:

You can also get one of many codec packs that lets WMP play them natively. I use (
http://www.cccp-project.net/) CCCP and haven't run into anything it couldn't play yet.
