I just watched it. Eem, are you having a massive herp derp moment? You know these guys have an email account? An email account visible to all audiences? That they encourage everyone to send them requests for episodes and have, in fact, made several episodes purely because that is what the "people" (aka fans) asked them to do?
I call bs because I've never seen this "argument" fought with any gusto in any forum. This is one of the places it would be as well.
In the thread at the Escapist forums the first post (by Extra Credits) is "This week, we address the common claim that advancing games as an art means making them less fun."
It's "common claim" I have issue with.

Ah, I dont frequent their forums, so can't speak of that.
Though you do bring a point. I've definitely heard the "analyzing games destroys them" argument before, but if I were to give you an example of where, I'd be hard pressed to think of one... hmm

God, I made the mistake of watching the episode on Anonymous. Extra Credits has ended now, apparently. Last episode was the art one. What a piece of crap to bow out on.

Well I see your points and I do agree the show is a bit of a hi-brow, this-is-how-things-are-because-we-say-so, idealizied ranting where every one of the 14 year old kids wanting to make an MMO is the next great game designer just waiting to happen, and things like the mean DRM or EA are actually good and doing it all for *us* customers, and if the publishers and devs and audiences can just learn to cooperate already we can all walk together holding hands around the warm bonfire that is the video game industry...
Nonetheless, it does bring up certain good points and themes often under explored in game discussion that I might not have thought of otherwise. And on occassion, it also makes a thoughtful assertion on those topics as well. So if you can learn to disassociate that from the narrative, there's definitely something to be learned there.

Is it any wonder they're nearly extinct?! The damned thing has trouble moving ANYWHERE.
That's not its only problem. It's also easily confused. They only breed in really specific circumstances (a bit like pandas I guess).
Check out the new Last Chance to See series with Stephen Fry and zoologist Mark Carwardine (a followup of a series made by Douglas Adams before he died).
They track one down in the forest and it tries to mate with Mark's head.
It did manage to be quite spry for a few minutes there however.

Okay so most of The Prisoner is damn good, but there's some dire filler episodes later on to pad it out. The ending makes total sense. Absolutely. Yep. Uhuh.
:weird:
On top of all the other idiotic things kakapo do, they climb trees and then get down again by falling off. They should be the national bird of New Zealand.

So I watched the whole first seasons of Walking Dead and... wow that is one cookie-cutter show. SPOILERS ENSUE.
The characters are just downright epitomy of cliche. I mean, the goody-good cop dude who always goes back to save his man? The parental grampa figure? The racist and retarded redneck that is dangerous to the group? And an obligatory black dude, just wait till he starts grabbing them pills.
On top of that, the series doesnt seem to do anything original, and instead only relies on overly-dramatized stereotypes over and over. The opening in the hospital is straight from 28 days later. The sewing off of the guy's hand is a nod to Saw. The obligatory "we are trapped on a roof!" or "one of our men got bitten so now moral dilemma!" And the CDC....
I mean that whole last episode was a whole moment of cinematic masturbatory retardation. A ridiculous government underground base complete with a disillusioned Dr. Drama, a talking computer, and a fucking self-destruct mechanic? Seriously? Are we back to fucking 80s here? Not to mention just how ridiculous the whole mechanic of locking the entire building and trapping all its workes inside whether they like it or not as the spooky countdown timer slowly ticks towards zero, and the Only Science Guy Left on Earthâ„¢ explains how it's all hopeless and no you MUST die with me BECAUSE, calling onto the computer to read a fucking wikipedia entry on "what is explosion" because it's DRAMATIC, always with that fucking clock right behind him in the shot. Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

Whoa, I clearly haven't been keeping up on the comics for a while.

Nearing the end of the final season of Star Trek (3rd season, originals). Whilst the final season started off good, there has been some really average episodes (which considering that NBC back at the time of the production of the episodes was actively trying to kill the show off isn't that surprising really). Not bad, but not great either. 2nd season was excellent in comparison. Might watch all of the Star Trek movies which followed it after that, then move onto DS9.

I gotta thank you fine folks for introducing me to Angry Video Game Nerd. I've watched a whole bunch of the episodes over the past week. It's great internet-TV! :D
