Would you end up killing yourself? I would probebly get to the front door and then run like hell all the way back to my apartment. then hide for the rest of my life only coming out for food so every one doesnt know I didnt go into the cradle and think I was a wuss.

whats wrong with this thread?
Sluggs on 7/5/2006 at 20:12
I think we have enough threads about the Cradle as it is!

I imagine I would probably die a horrible death, and end up another cradle victim.

Garrett has also made it through the Bonehoard, the Haunted Cathedral and the Maw. If they didn't stop his heart the Cradle certainly wouldn't.

Although, personally, I think the Cradle's worse than the bonehoard or the cathedral. Perhaps because those were just straight dead things. . .the Cradle's sort of a twisted thing. To me, he sounded *far* more reluctant to enter the Cradle than he ever did to enter the Bonehoard, or even the Cathedral. While he wasn't thrilled with those, he did not sound as if he was so reluctant and wary as he did with the Cradle. Of course, that could be my own interpretation, but still, what else have we got?
And, if it was *me* in Garrett's place? Well, apart from the fact, I probably would not have made it as far as the Cradle (can we say killed by the pagans? or flayed by the Kurshok?, no, never mind that, how about hacked to death by zombies - assuming I'd hav made it onto the ship? Aw, who're we kidding? I probably would be stuck in the prison! :laff: But, yeah, had I made it that far? I probably would have gotten inside. . .the place was creepy, but as long as nothing was moving, I'm ok. . .the knocking on that attic door, though. . .would have sent me barrelling back outside and straight back to the apartment never to come out again.

It makes sense that he'd be more reluctant. With the Bonehoard and the Cathedral he was there for loot and he knew in advance what to expect - undead. For the Cradle he has no real idea of what to expect and no guarantee there will even be loot. There could well be the Hag waiting for him.

Thats true, and undead are more of an annoyance. In the Cradle he was after straight information and he did not even know if it was a dead end or not. So, yeah, I agree. There was no real indication he was on the right trail.
((And in a way, he sort of did hit a dead end. . .the info on the hag was sort of useless. His loot was minimal and the only thing that really made it worth it was the fact that Lauryl was still attached to the hag - although, he had no way of knowing that until after he freed her in the catacombs.))

Also the fact "I've never robbed an orphanage before... this feels like a place with bad dreams...."
If hes expecting undead, he'll know what to come with. Though here it wasnt just zombies, it was the building itself, as a malevolant spirit. When your playing the game you dont have to worry because you know theres stuff after the cradle, but when your in reality, you arent sure about if you'll survive or not, and of course there isnt the quickload option
If i was in the cradle, I would prepare myself, then go ask 10 hammerite priests to help :P
