Just one objective for the entire mission, I would think. There would be no limitations to the obstacles one would encounter while pursuing that objective, be it flood, fire, frost or frippery.
Drop me a PM if you need anything, Kurhhan, indeed that goes for all of you lovely TTLG folk.:)

It would be nice to have one possibility to replace objective with another. For example you start with "steal loot from the mansion". Something happened near start and you are left with "Get out of the mansion alive!".
Thx Purgator.

That would be an interesting premise. I suppose the beauty of a "Single Objective" mission would lie in it's interpretation.

I kind of liked the simplicity of just a single objective. That means most missions won't have a "Get back to where you started" or "Don't kill anyone" or even "Grab 5000 loot." It'll have to all be focused on one primary task, and then the mission ends.
Of course, you could cheat and say "Finish all of the tasks on Lord Fatbottom's list" but that would kind of defeat the purpose of the contest.

i like the idea of a long objective :) find dewdrop

@Brethren
Ok, single objective sounds good, no replacement allowed. One more thing need to be clarify. Mini-campain allowed (one objective per mis) or just one mis file with single objective.
I already started gather resources for the contest mission.

How about a colour scheme competiton.
Each competitor would have 3 or 4 randomly picked colours, which they must use as major palette for the scenery in their mission. Points would be given on how well the author is able to stay on the colour scheme throughout the mission, but still having the end result look "sane" enough.
It would be also cool to have some very bright colours in there, not just some easy grey or brown stuff. Imagine, how challenging it would be to create a mission if you had to have bright red, black and light blue as major colours for it.
...just a weird idea i got :P

This actually sounds rather cool!

Someone posted about the Dark Camelot premise a while back, and since no one seems to have actually done much of anything with it, I think a Dark Camelot based contest would be cool. The original ideas weren't developed very much, only a few vague characters with simple traits and some locations as I recall, so it would allow for a variety of different interpretations of the world and characters.
