i just had this amazing idea's hit me,ok imagine a contest where you take a older single fan mission that you feel should have a part two
so each person can pick a fan mission they really liked and make a part 2 out of it,this way it something the author would love to do ,each mission would be different
what do you all think?

now that i just saw slacky post ,that give me another idea for a contest a thief 3 fan mission contest using thief 2 new dark
when i first played thief 3 i was like wow good game but the controls were not up to par in my view but on thief 2 new dark it would be epic and then authors can tap into the story's of t3 maybe a had fan mission contest/etc

I think I'm just going to run with the Lost Places idea, it seems to be the most popular. Probably a 5 month build time.
I was also thinking we should open this thing all the way up, and make the contest open to all variants of Thief - T1/TG/T2/T3 and TDM.

great idea^
still hope one day we get a contest or a mission that takes place after t3,starting to feel the limits of the story we currently got are close to being taped out

Ah yes, it's a well known fact that story much more important than actual gameplay or atmosphere ;) ; do you have an idea for a cool story taking place after T3 that could be featured in a fan-mission?

i think letting each person come up with what they think happened would be real interesting
as for me if it was only one mission,i would like to have it where garrett leaves the keepers once and for all since they are pretty much useless now, goes to viktoria's grave to pay respects, and leaving dewdrop there for her, then garrett decides to finally leaves the city but wants to say good bye to all the people who helped him through out all his missions,so it would kinda be a wonder a city going to places like basso/looting/etc,then getting on a boat and goes to ??? hard to fully commit to a idea for a single mission that takes place after thief 3 but i am sure alot of you over the years wonder what did happen to garrett/hammers/mechs/keepers/pagans/etc

Except it wouldn't really make sense for Garrett to leave The City, because at the end of TDS, he's come to accept his role as the One True Keeper. Garrett even calls himself a Keeper when he's quoting Artemus's words to the little girl. Garrett is a "true neutral" character (neither good nor evil, neither lawful nor chaotic), and as the One True Keeper, he's the greatest force of balance in The City. If any more threats like Constantine, Karras, or Gamall ever showed up, Garrett would be the best (or even only) person who could handle it.
Personally, I've always thought that Garrett would keep on thieving in addition to his new duties, and maybe he'd even attempt to rebuild the Keeper organization to be more "true neutral" instead of "neutral good" like they were before. The Glyphs and the prophecies may be gone, but the Keepers could still gather and utilize knowledge, and in the right hands, knowledge is a very powerful tool.

after how the keepers treated garrett and he proved he was innocent, there is no way he is going back, would only be a matter of time till they turned on garrett agian

The abandoned/lost places sounds interesting, I could definitely think of some cool settings for it. :) Also the daylight theme mentioned earlier in the thread sounds good and provides some different gameplay.
