Well, so I started playing again after some time, the game has been surprisingly easy ('cept for those damn last 10 to 50 last loot I just can't seem to taffing find).
I'm in the Thieves' Guild now, (trying to find the last damn 30 loot).
I'm curious about my skill level in comparisson to the community's, so down there goes my stats.
All missions are played on Expert difficulty.
Lord Bafford's Manor
26 minutes and 26 seconds
1429/1429 loot
4/4 pockets picked
24 knockouts
25 damage dealt
Break from Cragscleft Prison
59 minutes and 40 seconds
1688/1688 loot
11/12 pockets picked
27 knockouts, 1 while airborne
45 damage dealt
2 damage received
1 kill (Zombie)
Down in the Bonehoard
56 minutes and 57 seconds
2450/2450 loot
3 backstabs
2 knockouts
170 damage dealt
11 kills (Zombies)
Assassins
1 hour, 8 minutes and 18 seconds
2705/2705 loot
8/9 pockets picked
18 locks picked
47 knockouts
122 damage dealt
2 bodies discovered
2 kills (Ramirez' pet Burricks :ebil:)
Thieves' Guild (so far, I'll won't finish the mission until I get the damn last 30 loot)
1 hour, 56 minutes and 48 seconds
2686/2716 loot
14/18 pockets picked
19 locks picked
69 knockouts, 3 while airborne
118 damage dealt
2 bodies discovered
2 kills (Er, what? I don't recall killing anything.)

How about: 0 knockouts, 0 damage dealt, 0 damage received?
Maybe add no hunting alerts or no level 3 alerts at all, if you want real challange.

Eh, ghosting is not really for me. I like the good 'ol blackjack. Plus, I think that it does break my immersion loading when I take damage/I'm spotted/etc. I kind of pretty much ironman the levels. Only load when I die or I get stuck on level geometry.
I just wonder how in the blazes they find some of the corpses I hide in the most dark unpatrolled corners. Sure, in Assassins it was because they spawned all those toughboys, but in Thieve's Guild?
Just odd, I think. And by the way, still looking for the last 30 loot on that damned maze.

Solution to this: don't get spotted/damaged :) Sometimes it really makes you think a lot about a possible another way past some choke point.
Well, if you already consider the game "easy", it won't get any harder without additional challenges. And your actual mind state is no surprise - once you gain some experience in the game, learn to use/exploit the mechanics to your advantage etc., playing with blackjack and all the other fancy gadgets becomes UTTERLY easy. I wouldn't turn to ghosting at first either - but when I realised I am getting on autopilot, and that finishing the mission doesn't require thinking anymore, I decided to add some more depth into playing (I still have lots of breathtaking user content to explore, don't wanna get bored before I give it a try xd)
btw I still consider loot hunting a pain in the bottom, not gonna put it on my "to-do" list... yet. ;)

I'd consider it "Headache Wizard". Lots of blackjacking, otherwise quite decent. Anyone else want a very personal Thief skill rating? :p

To be honest, I kind of only use the blackjack. I rarely use any water/moss/noisemaker arrows at all. I normally just rely on the traps I set using my own noise and the already existing darkness. Only on zombie missions I go gadget-happy, hehe.

"Hedache Wizard"? :laff:
Well, thanks. I guess I just need to remember where's all the loot on the game, hehe. I just can't seem to not get stuck on the last 10 to 80 and spend about some good ammount of time looking for it.

For me the only true measure of skill is how many times you have to reload. You can do every mission perfectly if you f12 every time you screw up.
My goal is to get through every mission with no more than 2 reloads, on expert. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not.

Well, I pretty much ironman, only reloading when I die or get suddenly struck by the heart attack syndrome. Y'know, you like, HAVE to reload when that happens. :cheeky:
The odd ratio between damage dealt/knockouts in some missions normally means that I've got caught and blackjacked the baddie until he dropped down. But it's a bit odd, 'cause I don't get caught that much and technically it deals 1 damage. (I write my times caught down, so, according to my list, they've caught me 1 time in the Assassins and 2 in Thieves' Guild.) :weird: But I guess that comes from the non-humans that I kill just for the kicks. :ebil:

I give myself a personal 'fatigue' bar of 30 points. With every 100 steps I take I subtract 1 from the bar. Every time I climb something I subtract 5. One swing of the sword is 2 points gone.
The only way to replenish this bar is to either eat in the game (deer leg gives 10 points back, cheese gives 5, apple gives 3), rest in real time, or (and this is more controversial) you can use the square-toothed lockpick to plug into certain electrical machines and refill the fatigue-bar by channeling the energy through Garrett's mechanical eye and into the rest of his body. If you choose this last option the really neat thing is that you can actually zoom-in one additional level too until the bar goes done again.
P.S. A thirty sided die is perfect for recording your current fatigue bar.
P.S.S It's up to you to decide if I really do this.

Huh, wait, what?
That sound awfully complicated... Do you really count the nymber of steps you make? Plus, isn't the square-toothed made of wood?(looks like) And 30 fatigue points is way too low, I think.
I really doubt you use this but, well, it's creative.
