What's the deal with Patient No. 3? - by shadowseeker777

For patient No.5 see HHclockfile.sch. It doesn't appear in the game.
About "a little stuffed-person punching bag" — I think it's some trick that he made to get out of his chamber. Maybe he simulated a suicide (and put his mask on this bag, as you're supposed to do), so that a nurse put the elevator down to see what happened. He came down with the elevator, killed her and obtained keys from other cells.

IMO, those chains in Cell No.3 are used to
1.for the staff of the Cradle, keep the patient from straying out of the cell. Merely locking the door may not be sufficient...
2.for the game... add some creepy atmosphere

He came down with the elevator
or... maybe he waited up there. So we heard that maniac laughter when going up.
BTW, how to open .sch file?

There's no elevator control buttons up there. So, he couldn't come down if he waited on the upper floor. He needed someone to press the button.
*.SCH is a text file. Use Notepad, Wordpad or Edit

I never liked that maniacal laughter. It was way to stereotypically "mad scientist" for me. It should have been much much lower and deeper and more controlled, like he was trying to stifle his laughter. . .it's hard to explain but I definitely don't think the laughter that's used now is effective at all.

Not much about The Craddle made sense to me... I just wanted to get OUT ASAP.

Run! Skedaddle! Git! Git! Git!

That's one of the points I wish they had fleshed out a little more.
More info about the patients and more of those macabre notes the doctors wrote.

Well, I personally didn't go through all of the Cradle and wimped out on patient no. 1's room, but how did Garret escape from the upper floor? That might be how he got out.

Garrett escapes because the decades that the Cradle has sat untended, or possibly the fire, left a big gaping hole in the wall. Even then, getting down involves a lengthy climb with the wall-climbing gloves, or fun falling from thick pipe to thick pipe.
Whee, thread necromancy! Just the thing for player necromancy! :laff:

Anyone ever thought of making some "Patient No. 1" FMs? It'd kinda steer away from the usual Thiefy banter of being a non-killing dude, to being a homicidal sociopath, but being an insane assassin kinda guy every once in a while would be awesome. Good way to get the daemons out.
They're talking to me again... And they don't like you...
