Although I like the game alot, in spite of its shortcomings, I'm curious as to which of these you people consider the most disappointing thing about it. If you vote "Other" please specify.
Note: I'm not including "No Editor", as that goes without saying for many of us. I'm curious about gameplay elements in this poll.
Personally, the pitiful AI of the Keeper Enforcers (assassins) was mine... I mean, they're Keeper assassins for crying out loud! Why don't they stick to the shadows and become invisible and sneak up behind me? Walking down the middle of the street on set patrol routes makes them a joke. The evil keepers in the T2 FM Equilibrium are far smarter and scarier!

Clicked the button to many times, have we?
Edit: All of those are equal dissapointing, should have been a multiple choice poll.

Movement is the only thing that upsets me. Also I've been playing on the hard difficulty setting and it's actually quite easy. Too many large dark areas to hide in. But these are still just minor quibbles, the game really has no major disappointments.

A multiple choice poll kind of makes "
most disappointing" meaningless...

Or you could add an "s" to the end of "thing" to make it "things" which, in turn, would make it make sense.

(Note: Copied this text over from the other duplicate thread).
Sorry, I've got two. I can't decide is one is more important than the other, so I'm going with the tie. :ebil:
I haven't finished the game yet (and I'm enjoying it also), but so far the biggest disappointments for me are the lack of the classic mission briefings and the smaller level sizes.
The briefings put so much atmosphere into the game, it was amazing how much they could catapult you into the story (especially since you're not even playing when you view them). I've watched them all dozens of times, sometime when I'm not even playing through the game. They contributed so much in separating Thief from all the other games out there.
And in regards to the level sizes, I just think back to Bonehoard, The Sword, The Lost City, S/R, Trail Of Blood, Life of the Party, and others, and it depresses me because so far I haven't seen even a remote comparison with
these large levels in T3. Even worse, a game released about the same time, Far Cry, has gigantic levels bigger than anything in any Thief game (with a single load, no less), and I think about what could have been.
I realize T3 has other things going on that Far Cry doesn't (all the shadows and lighting), but I think most fans would have ditched the special effects in favor of the larger levels.
Ok, that's it. But just to reiterate, I AM enjoying the new game, quite a bit actually, but of course, it's (so far) just not the same as the originals. :( Oh well...

This poll is useless since it left out the biggest problem of all-- the spastic first-person movement.
Renault on 4/6/2004 at 18:25
That's what the "other" is for, big guy.
Btw ZB, did you actually break down and buy the game?
ZylonBane on 4/6/2004 at 19:01
No, I have not yet had a mental breakdown sufficient to drive me to purchase TDS.
I'm waiting for the patch. And if a patch doesn't come, then I'm waiting for the bargain bin.

I'd have to say either the new cutscene/briefing format, or the whole faction cheese. But then T2's briefings were weak too...go ahead and name all of your memorable T1 briefings, and then try and honestly name some awesome T2 briefings. I can't think of any, they are all just really standard and ordinary.
The level sizes in T3 seem perfectly fine to me spacially, the game feels huge and sprawling (only finished 4 missions and I'm clocked in at 14 hours). Loading takes around 10 seconds. The fog is weird though, wish there was some explanation for that.
