This is highly untrue. I've had situations last for the entire duration of my visit. Not because I continue to perpetuate with broadheads (*grins*) but more because of the City spawning Cityfolks. People just keep showing up and especially in the Old Quarter and Stonemarket, people just keep popping in and gangbanging each other.
Well, as I said, I only have the demo. Additionally, I just heard tell that Expert difficulty doesn't work properly the first time you play, so perhaps it'll be more fulfilling the next time through.

The briefings. Bleh.

I'm not seeing a "Clunky, tinman-like player movement" option, so.. Other. I never got used to that, and it basicly ruined the entire game.

Having done a few missions now, so far I'm rather disappointed in the AI. It has some cool features and details to it, but it's practically deaf and blind, even on Expert. I only crouch out of principle, because normal walking and even running don't make very much noise. Plus, their field of vision seems as limited as it was in the first two games, if not more.

The most disappointing thing in Thief 3 for me was the cut scenes. I loved the shadow/hand drawn cut scenes from the originals as they added a personal flavor and distinctiveness to the Thief series. Though they had those in Thief 3, the large amount of CG cut scenes just did not sit well for me. After that I'd have to say the load times between areas of the city or levels (and thus the small-scale of the levels).
Other than that I've only minor complaints, most of which I've gotten used to in the course of playing the game. There is no doubt that rope arrows in certain situations would have been much better than the climbing gloves. Nothing else really sticks out as 'bad' for me.
The actual game and storyline were very nice and moreover, it felt like a Thief game. I was expecting something much much worse after what happened to Deus Ex: IW, but it turned out well, and it was a fitting end to Garrett's saga.

The Training mission was HORRIBLE. Please follow these flashing footsteps here and then here. I ignored those foot steps and completed the so called "Training" mission without all that nonsense and still was able to pinch Lord Julian's velvet bag. The loading zones take a bit of getting used to. Lock picking I'm used to; it is somewhat similiar to the Splinter Cell series. The AI is very touchy with some areas; it needs a little work here. You either blackjack/ghost everyone in the City; fire water arrows at the torches; go through the load zone; complete the mission at hand as instructed by Keeper Artemus; come back to the city and EVERYTHING is left like you where never there. Everthing was respawned. :grr: :grr:

Difficulty. The AI are aware of many things but don't really do anything about them, and they go out of alert mode far to easy.

NO WATER!!
This probably means that IF they ever release the editor, all the levels will be dry...
This really bums me out. I LOVE swimming!

Only on 3rd level so don't know what's ahead but basically no major complaints...
Had higher expectations of AI intelligence - not just alertness level but I had hoped they might respond in more interesting, intelligent ways but basically they are just the same as before with a few new lines only not so alert as we've got used to in FMs.
I've decided there is no real 'leaning' at all and I miss this. No forward lean and I really wanted to look over the railing up in St. Edgars and other places. And the sideways lean I now realize is actually more like a half side-step with half crouch. Since it exposes you and moves you I don't use it at all anymore but just step out and back. I guess there might be a technical reason - perhaps the unreal engine cannot show a tilted view and offset from a fixed position.
Not yet got the gloves so often find myself looking up at beams etc and wishing I could get up there - even if there is nothing there to find.
Also seems you can't drop items even when there seems to be plenty of room. You can pick up something near a wall but often can't drop it straight back where you got it but have to walk a couple of yards away then throw it back to the wall - to where it was rejected when you just tried to drop it.
None of the above concerns me too much though as the game transcends these niggles.
Oh yes, and am I right in thinking that bow accuracy is less? Or is that a framerate problem? Finding it harder to line up as the slightest touch and the bow jerks maybe 3 or 5 degrees at a time. Mind you, I use keys, perhaps I should try the mouse for the bow but I don't like it generally for Thief. Anyway, rarely use it as I like ghosting and avoid even putting out lights unless I have to.

for me it's the bloody movement, going from strafe to walking forward is taking the piss. First person priority my arse.
