Ok, this'll take a little while to tell

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/wink.gifIt was the second or third time I played through the game. I had the "talk" command enabled so I could enter cheats with "t", and I occasionally played around with this. Also, I tend to get a little, "involved", in my games while playing (Deus Ex is very immersive to me).
Tonnochi Road. I've just finished retrieving the Nanotech sword, and I'm walking back to the market when I realize that I could be much more imaginative in that part of the game. So, I enable a few cheats and reload Tonnochi Road (I save a new game every time I enter an area for the first time. It's disk-space consuming, but I don't use much of the disk anyway, and I can always delete it later).
I stride into the hotel and pay no attention to the desk clerk. I quickly turn off the security camera (not that it really mattered, but I like to be thorough). Then I take out my Stealth Pistol, sneak up behind the desk clerk and give him some extra cranial ventilation (Paul would not be happy).
So I head up to Maggie Chow's place and talk to her and her maid. Then I start shooting things randomly with my stealth pistol, tables, chairs, etc. This doesn't faze either of them. I shoot out a few of the floor-to-ceiling windows, but nobody reacts, not even the MJ12 Troops nearby.
Now I'm getting bored, and Chow's persistant and repetitive comments are starting to piss me off. I pull out my normal, nonsilenced pistol, because I want this to be nice and loud. I hit her once in the head, and she goes down. The maid goes for the alarm, as I plant two more rounds into Chow's carcass (Hey, I was bored). The alarm goes off and I realize I've forgotten about the maid. I pump two rounds into her and she goes down, too.
Now the MJ12 Troops are pouring into the room with assault rifles from behind the Buddha statue. I'm trapped in the little sitting area next the windows without much cover. I yell obscenities.
I fire at them once as they file out, but it misses, and now my pistol is out of ammo (3 for Chow, 2 for the maid leaves a paltry 1 to deal with 5 troopers). They start shooting at me (!). The gun begins to reload, but until it does I'm a sitting duck.
I practically slam my hand down on F1 and spurt obscenities. I look at the inventory screen, and have an idea. I select MY SINGLE LAM and hit the "Equip" button >

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/smile.gifI go back to the game. I pitch the lam at the troopers. I aim a little low. The lam bounces off the railing and flies back at me, beeping maniacally. I yell more obscenities and follow my natural instinct, which is to run in the opposite direction.
Out the window.
Lucky me that I had shot it out earlier. No sooner am I out the window, the screen flashes white for a second and I'm careening quickly towards the ground. I hit the F7 key for my level 4 speed augmentation, check that my legs are at full health, and hope that I survive the fall.
I hit the ground, not dying, not even damaged. I am confused as hell for a second, until I remember that I set God mode earlier, when I started Tonnochi Road. I sigh with relief, turn around and look up at the apartment. Whatever windows and objects remained before are gone now, and smoke is floating around way up at the side of the building. The last ten seconds were some of the most hair-raising I've ever experienced in a game.
"Targeting."Did you know that the big security robot on Tonnochi Road turns hostile when Maggie Chow's alarm goes off? You do now.
And I'm standing there, ten feet in front of it, staring at the sky like an idiot.
It's machine guns start going off, and I immediately forget I'm in God mode. I run behind one of those pillars just outside the hotel entrance, and I'm safe for the moment. The ceiling is too low for it to come in. What concerns me is the Hong Kong policeman with the sniper rifle who is probably heading for me right now.
I reload the pistol (no sense in silence now), aim it at the corner around which the policeman would be running, and wait.
And wait. And wait.
Ok, maybe he didn't see me, and he's just disregarding the robot trying to root out a murderer up the street. Now I just have to deal with the robot.
I hit 3, my button to equip the assault rifle. I then press the apostraphe button to switch ammo to the grenades. Still behind the pillar I turn to face where the robot is, strafe out until the robot is targeted and press the fire button. At this point I notice two things.
1) The robot's current status is green, or "Friendly".
2) I am now firing normal ammo at the robot. Not grenades. Dinky little bullets.
The robot, of course, doesn't like being shot at. While he swivels to return fire, I glance at the command log box at the top of the screen:
Out of HE Ammo
Of course. The first place in the game (I think) to acquire HE Ammo is in the guard area behind Chow's apartment. And I didn't exactly have the chance to steal it during my one-bullet shootout with the MJ12 Troops.
I slap F5 to activate the Agressive Defense System (much cooler than Spy Drone IMHO), spin one hundred-eighty degrees and sprint for the Tonnochi Road exit. The Chinese policeman ignores me, maybe he hasn't been paying attention to my epic battles.
The rockets the robot shoots are zapped by the ADS, and I hope I can survive the bullet fire, until I've left Tonnochi Road, the Canal is loading, and I remember I have God mode activated. I then have quite a good laugh at that.
Geez, that was long.
