The first time I met a Burrick I was mearily running down a corridor when I saw this dog like thing stick its head out of a side passage. My thought patterns went "I didn't know there were dogs in this", then "Maybe they are harmless" (I have to admit that was REALLY optimistic of me) continued towards it, it sees me and grunts its dislike, I realise I'm in trouble (low on health at this point) try to stop running (tunnel going downhill) completely fail to stop and fall out the end of the tunnel right in front of it where it promptly spits at me and its reload time!
The other embarressing death was playing the prison rescue mission at 2am - I got to the top of the lift turned round to find myself facing a zombie which scared the living daylights out of me - ran backwards blindly and right down the lift shaft - splat!

My dumbest death was in the Thief 2 demo which later became Life of The Party. It was right after it came out. I had played part of the mission but really didn't know where I was. I had played for a little while and had one saved game is all. I happened to fall off the building for some reason(I forget, sorry) I think I was trying to make a jump to a ledge or something. Anyway I had missed enough times that is was becoming normal to hit ESC and reload to the last save. Well, instead of hitting reload, I hit save. Needless to say I had to do the entire thing over since everytime I would reload, I was 4 foot from splatting on the ground!

The first time through the haunted cathedral after collecting the talismans, I didn't know the prayer book was used for the ceremony for the ghost helping me so I thought it was a weapon of sorts to use against the Hammer haunts and other zombies. Boy my face must've been red after getting slaughtered by one of the Hammer haunts after getting trapped in a corner while reading that annoying prayer. Would've been cool if it killed the zombies for me though.
Ok, This happened just minutes ago, but, I was waiting patiently to knock out a mage in the earth tower do he comes along and I knock him out. Not two minutes later I start losing health, turns out it was the floating platform. Good thing I saved just outside the door.:cheeky:

...ALLRIGHT!!! I'll tell. Actually, it happened few time ago. I was building a FM, where you start at your own house, and of course, there was a bathroom. So, I died in a SHAS while... Doing the necessities... :sweat:
This was really dumb. I can't really decide on what was the stupidest way I ever died, becouse there are so many :rolleyes:

I was playing a fan mission (don't remember which) and had just finished dinner while playing Thief. The bowl, empty but for the spoon, was sitting in my lap. In the game, I was crouched in perfect darkness just inside a doorway. A guard was walking along the hall outside the door. I started jiggling my leg with impatience, rattling the spoon. My wife remarked, "Aren't you glad they can't hear us?" right before the guard, for no apparent reason, went on alert and attacked Garrett.
After we stopped laughing, and reloaded, I tried it again, this time without rattling the spoon in the bowl... and crouching farther back from the door.

I figure it's best to stop a froggy and see if it nukes them. I drop it, and I see tons of cannonballs and saws fly past it, I think "Sweet, this little dude's gonna do it!". Too bad a cannonball hit the froggy and turned him into paste. The explosion DID kill a nearby robot, so I was laughing and yelling "SWEET!". Too bad the ball did a 90 degree angle ricochet and went STRAIGHT up to me, blowing me to pieces. I swear, it was like a cartoon. Me and my sister were laughing for atleast a minute straight.

In Thief 1, in the mission where you walk around the Trixter's manor while the guards are still in their human form, there is a big room full of flowers and a giant flower basket hanging from the ceiling. On the ground there are rocky anomalies, one of which is a pile of rocks with one very *sharp* point. While messing around and jumping all over the place I managed to impale myself somehow on that piece of ground. It intantly took all my health and my body slid into a pit in the rocks. All I can imagine is that the point was so sharp that it was 2-Dimentional and it just split Garrett's physical model apart?

I was playing The Wedding of Sir Andre, and I had climbed all the way into the top rafters of one of the towers. While attempting to get back on my rope arrow, I missed and fell about 3 stories. A pair of fire barrels broke my fall... with the obvious results... KABOOM!

I was playing Life of the Part the other day, and I got caught by a Mechanist guard. I was sure there was a platform over the wall behind me, so I decided to be risky and run backwards to it. I fell to the ground, but that's not the end of it! Since I had saved recently, I decided to see how far I could get while on the streets. Apparently the rukus the mechaists and I made got the attention of the bots and guards on the street. Surrounded and a sniper up above, fast way to drain your health, luckily the bot killed a few guards with its poor aim before getting me.:joke:
