You know, when you accidentally quicksave after falling off a ledge, or in to lava, or right in front if a guard/mech. And that is the only/recent save.

:joke: Ah, that was an entertaining death. I was in Kidnap, in the first building, where you find the switch to open the gate to the rest of the KD site. I had knocked out everyone in the area, and decided to destroy the mech beast that patrols the building by getting him to fire his cannon balls into the pillars inside his room.
He fired the first ball into the pillar, but it went flying straight up in the air, it must've hit the slanted section. I stood right where I was, wondering if I should head for the doorway of the building, and the cannon ball came right down on my head, killing me instantly. :laff::joke: The mech beast was close enough to me to be caught in the blast radius, so he very slowly backed up, it looked like he was just as stunned by what happened as I was. :laff:

Oh yeah! I remember doing that when I first started playing TDP and my last save had been about 1/2 an hour prior to my dying a horrific death. Now I save about every five minutes. ;)

Out of curiosity, am I the only person in this forum who uses the menu save function in preference to quicksave? I don't even know the key combination for quicksave. Not because I never figured it out, but because I prefer using the save/load menu. Lots less accidental saves that way, and since I stagger my save slots, I have only accidentally created a save of me getting ready to die that set me back a bit once in all of T1/T2/TDS/SS2, and dozens of FMs...

I never use the quicksave. It's a recipe for disaster as far as I'm concerned. I have always used multiple save slots for each mission so I can backtrack if I find myself in a sticky situation. I use the same method for FMs.

Ever since my one disastrous experience with quicksave I've used the menu save option. I agree with kamyk & NW.
Just call me nimblefingers. :(

I used the Quicksave option only once, when I accidentally hit the appropriate key (F11 or F12, I think). Instead, I use the standard menus to save and load games. It's just too easy to hit Quickload instead of Quicksave when you're about to wet your pants, and vice versa in other situations.

I use quick save like a drug, man. After a piece of loot, quick save. After a KO, quick save.
Obviously, I do use the other saves, naturally.
TO stay on topic, I died when a guard said he was my 'pal' and hit 'wasn't going to hurt me'.
Yeah, Funny.
My lifes a joke.

Lol, I vaguely recall a similar incident the first time I played TDS (the first Thief game I played), and I actually thought the guard was being polite.

I never use quicksave either. Saving/loading the game normally gives me a chance to eat a chip or whatever I have with me.
