I played the return to the haunted cathedral mission yesterday and just can't find all of the loot. I just don't know where else to look, because I think I swept through every corner, even stuck up crates to get to some hard to reach parts. I may be a good sneak, but never was a good looter and barely ever discovered every treasure.
What's your secret to find everything?

If I were a goblet, where would I hide?
It's not really any big secret, but I always just check places where I'd hide loot if I were designing the mission. You can also quicksave, then use the mission complete cheat command to end the mission and check your loot score and then load up the quicksave if you're missing some.

What's the trick to get all loot?
Years of practice:thumb: I pride my self in trying to find 100% loot. I hate having to check loot list, dromed, or asking. There's a lot of places in missions you just automatically look, places that have almost become cliche' like rafters, between the bed and wall, on top of the armoire, coins in fountains, knocked over tables, and everyone's favorite; behind banners. Nowadays with authors hiding those "evil little coins:ebil:" everywhere, I find myself blindly frobbing all the time. That's a good point in itself! Frobbing around objects, statues, furniture finds me loot I may not see.
Come to think of it, I hate being in the situation you described! You think you've cleaned a mission out so carefully, then you get to the end and find out you're missing some loot, and you think "crap, I have no idea where to even begin looking for it!"
Edit: I got to thinking after I posted, you might want to check, some levels you can not achieve 100% loot. There maybe an error with the loot system on the mission, or loot is embedded in the wall or floor, or a loot item might be used in an unusual way, like as a secret switch or in a trophy case and the author forgot to not include it as loot. I know in the OMs there were several levels with embedded loot, very frustrating to find out after a long hunt!

Ignore any story-line that tells you where you should go first.
Simply explore each and every corner most carefully and make sure to examine all areas before moving on.
Explore one street after the other and every level in a building.
Take notes of locked doors that you can not get into just yet or any places that seem 'suspicious' and return later on.
Hard to find barely ever requires extensive crate-stacking.
Most is placed in such way that you simply won't spot it if you are rushing through the map.
So, take your time and inspect each inch and cranny.
However, there is loot which will most certainly even slip the open eye, such as coins or those infamous tiny gold-rings
(Are those rings? Really??? I always thought these would be piercings, or ear-rings for a doll, at best!).
For the desperate, there is 'The Trickster's Loot Locator'. :p
Pretty much your last resort, but a knowledgeable companion, if you keep taking notes on every lott that you DID find.;)

I give up. :D
1976 loot from 2126 in return to haunted cathedral. I swept through everything several times, but something is still missing. Last item I found was the golden hammer on top of the bone pile in St. Janel's, which I actually remember from other playthroughs, so it's just something I missed, but other than that I have no other options. Are there any hidden rooms other than the one in the catacombs/chemistry?
Next time I replay I'll do a complete swipe... I wish.
