Dragon Age (Entire Series)
Guild Wars 2 (Dragon Logo)
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (features a Dragon)
Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (announcement trailer is all about dragons).
And probably more.
It seems like there was a period in RPG design when developers all nodded and said "yes, we should do dragons now, for reals" and now we get to live in that time for the next 5 - 6 years. It seems like the only major RPG out there to not jump on the bandwagon is Witcher 2. I am sure it'll feature a dragon somewhere.

Whats with all the swords...
etc..
Dragon age has been dragon age since long ago back when it was announced 2004 that's a long time ago.
guild wars most likely had dragons in it in the first title too.
World of warcraft has had dragons and halfdragons and whatever dragons there might be in... skip that, warcraft has had dragons since its beginning.
divinity 2, true, that one might be riding the dragon wave, it's all due to the trend right, divinity 1 probably didn't have dragons, right?
Skyrim has dragons yes, but remember, dragons have been a part of the lore since the first elderscrolls waaay back, morrowind featured the dragon-god of time on its logo, or am I wrong?
Also, there are dragons in the witcher universe too.
back to swords, every fantasy rpg seems to feature swords these days, I guess we'll be seeing swords for the next 5-6 years now.

What? One of the biggest trailer/teaser selling points is looking at a town where a giant dragon flies above and scorches it.

Well, now all the sci-fi games seem to feature swords of various kinds these days.

I was under the impression that dragons were already the most overused and cliche fantasy element in existence. I have a hard time naming fantasy RPGs that don't have them.
EDIT - Though I realize that posting comics is typically someone else's role around here, I figured I'd jump the gun and point out that Penny Arcade seems to (
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/8/6/) understand what I'm talking about.

To me, it's not really a dragon unless it actually eats people. Like omnomnom and the princess is gone. Even worse if it's tame. (If it can only be controlled by feeding it damsels, maybe I'll budge on that.)

The dragon game that sticks in my mind is the old-school (
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/dragon-lord) Dragon Lord (aka Dragon's Breath), where you're actually raising dragons and sending them out to pillage the realm.
