I like Keeper Enforcers. They sound cool and are dangerous.

Their concept is awesome! It answered for me what would happen if someone tried to leave the order, and showed how cold-blooded the Keepers could be in order to preserve their secrets.

The consensus seems to be Hammerites.
I find myself looking at them with both comtempt and fascination at the same time. This is what I guess makes them an interesting faction.
I really get a kick out of it when they complain about the incompetence of their fellow comrades under their breaths generally leaving the Hammerite verbal lexicon in the dust for a moment.
It is also interesting how some of the characters who are not Hammerites in this game world, including Garrett to a very small extent, seem to have an inkling of belief in the concept of the Builder.
As far as who the Builder is, I have alway given thought to the idea that it was the unseen force to the characters within the thief world that constructs and manipulates everything in this game world, that being the person editing or designing the level. Almost an artificial awareness of a greater thing outside their own existences.
Hmmm.... a Builder complex.
"Methinks thou hath been given to thoughts of blasphemous self-pride!! Heat-tempered metal upon thy palms shall thee be subjected to, then upon thine correction of molding of thine spirit, thine hands shall forthwith be quenched with sooted oil bath to quell thine inquity of mind!!!"
Other than this I think the Keepers as stated earlier in this thread when they were more mysterious.
Then the Mages, which the Hammerites & Keepers share a small aspect of knowledge in. The Mage faction I find the hardest to deal with and quite often can be the scariest.

Agreed. Now if only it had been better implemented. :(

"The Builer who
exists, doesn't exist." (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcendence_(philosophy)) Transcendence, dear friends and colleagues.
I'm with the Keepers, apparently they have most of the books. I like the idea of observation and subtle manipulation. I'm still aware though that their high demands on putting back human weaknesses will probably never be fulfilled. Anyone who thinks the direction taken with TDS was
completely wrong just isn't realistic. And by the way, who says the Keepers don't believe in the Builer/god as well? Just because the Hammerites are the ones heading most of the institutionalized religion doesn't mean they have the only way of believing in this deity.

They never talk about it/him/her, but sure. They don't even deify the almighty Glyphs they trust completely (when they have the full picture). If they believe in a deity, they don't acknowledge The Builder or Pagan gods as anyone/thing to bother with. I'm sure they have insight into phenomena like the Lunar Pool, but none of that seems important to them. They speak matter-of-factly about those they observe and seek Balance for. They are pretty tolerant of human-weakness and only get excited during impending doomsdays, or threats to the Order itself.

I choose Benny. That guy has more brains than any person in these factions. :cheeky:

Definitely the Mages. The Keepers would come in second for me, and the Hammers third.

Oh, coolio, you like mages too? Care to say more on why, etc.?

Well they have powers, they spend their lives exploring the supernatural and the mysterious, they live in amazing places (the Towers, the Lost City), and I have a personal interest in the occult :ebil:. So there you go :thumb:
