1. Burglary. => 3 although, tends to get rather boring when entry is hack&slash
2. Infiltration. => 4 more fun, I enjoy having to think and plot; outwitting the AI
3. Overt Infiltration. => 4 same thoughts as #2
4. Undetectable Infiltration. => 4 would be 3, but the element of unpredictability is fun
5. Exploration. => 4 I enjoy the unpredictability and uncertainty
6. Tail. => 2 can be rather boring at times, and tedius
7. Escape. => 2 it's fun once . . . but also too much of a chance that the mission can be too unbalanced between AI and player
8. Ambush. => 3 setting up the kill can be fun
9. Loot Hunt. => 4 I enjoy searching for secrets
10. Oldschool Adventure. => 4 It can be a lot of fun to figure out some puzzles, and it's cool to be rewarded for paying attention to your surroundings
11. Pharaoh's Tomb. => 1 interesting, but the sudden death thing aint all that fun
12. Cityscape. => 4 the open space, the freedom to move forward and then backtrack to complete stuff, mission length
13. Cross-country. => 4 as much fun, IMO, as Cityscape, I enjoy my gameplay skills being challenged, precise maneuvers, etc
14. Undead invasion. => 2 is alright, but only under the condition that I have enough weaponry to deal with them properly
15. Robot Invasion. => 2 same with #14, it's alright if I'm armed properly
16. Monster Invasion. => 3 more manageable, monsters can be dealt with similar to NPCs

First of all, hi all, this is my first post in a while, and on a closer inspection 5th all in all. Zill made a nice topic that I couldn't leave undisturbed.
I will use imperialreign's template.
1. Burglary. => 4 Basic, simple and fun, but boring without extra dimension like readables and a campaign where you need the money.
2. Infiltration. => 3 Personally I don't like planning my moves based on predictably scripted waypoints and loud floors, but I can manage.
3. Overt Infiltration. => 5 I haven't seen too many of these, but the concept is delicious.
4. Undetectable Infiltration. => 4 If there's a reason not to be seen and objectives that match it (the police department is a prime example), it's a very fun and suspenseful mission.
5. Exploration. => 1 Weird environments like forests don't suit me, I want to steal something and forest folk don't have money.
6. Tail. => 4 Very immersive. They give a strong goal to follow that doesn't leave time for aimless wandering.
7. Escape. => 4 The Ambush mission is one of the best I've played, too bad there aren't many like it.
8. Ambush. => 2 Never played this type of mission that is good, the Thief 2 mechanist mission was tedious. The concept is good however, only if there was a mission to use the potential.
9. Loot Hunt. => 2 Very frustrating, loot hunting is OK if it's optional and not the main goal.
10. Oldschool Adventure. => 3 Story driven puzzles... sure if the story's good enough to mandate it.
11. Pharaoh's Tomb. => 2 A one trick pony that sounds good on paper but is rarely exciting once you play it.
12. Cityscape. => 5 Not great alone, but if there is consistency between the various places, such as mutual pen pals in different houses, and the environment quality isn't worse just because of a bigger mission, I love it.
13. Cross-country. => 3 Difficult terrain is frustrating because of unsure mantling and other gameplay, but otherwise it's nice.
14. Undead invasion. => 1 Garrett and the undead could make a deal: zombies and haunts stay underground and Garrett leaves their final resting (or hangout) places alone. Looking at how many undead missions there are, I have a feeling that Garrett might like corpses more than the treasures give reason for. :weird:
15. Robot Invasion. => 1 Just robots makes the whole mission seem dead and dull. Hearing that Snoopy talk all the time drives me nuts.
16. Monster Invasion. => 1 I have intense hate for all things pagan: their way of speaking, their home environment, their poverty, and especially their overgrown furry and "woodsie" friends who have no good reason to exist, except for the fish people who at least had some nice literature.

I have to comment! :)
Althought zombies and robots might be annoying to some (and I partially understand why), I completely love them. They give the kind of challenge and excitement that really motivate you to stay in the shadow. I have never ran away in such panic as with the undead.
And the pagans, I somehow like them a lot (most), I guess it's because I have lived most of my life in countryside.

Here are my two cents.
1. Burglary 4. Generally I like this kind of mission. Of course, if there's some good story and reading.
2. Infiltration 4. Yes, and this kind too.
3. Overt Infiltration 3. I like to explore, to pretend being a novice, a guard etc., but I don't like "Run for life" or "Clean the level before they get hostile" situations.
4. Undetectable Infiltration 3,5. The level with forced ghosting must by well-designed. I like to be undetected, but it's rather annoying to sneak behind that guard for the fifth time. I think that such level should be more linear than general infiltration, or have enough back doors.
5. Exploration 5. Simply my favorite one. Good story required, of course.
6. Tail 2. Not my part of town ©. I don't like being in a hurry. Such level must be fast and linear. I'll accept it if after chasing there's a good burglary/infiltration mission. Assassins is a good example. Courier on expert is bad example — return to city just to make pickpockets count instead of continuing the chase in the next mission looks rather illogical.
7. Escape 1. Hate that type of mission. If an FM says "You're in prison, get out and do some revenge", that makes me to delete it without further playing. T1 "Escape" is an exception, mostly because of a great story and large exploration territory.
8. Ambush 2. I don't like being in a hurry (if i need to complete an objecyive before my target is gone) and I dislike Hitman-style missions.
9. Loot Hunt 4. Yes, I like to solve puzzles and to search secrets. Just give me some story so I can understand, why this golden ring is hidden in that rusty pipe.
10. Oldschool Adventure 4. As I said, I like to solve puzzles.
11. Pharaoh's Tomb 1. I hate it when something scripted is going behind my back. I hate when I come into a room and receive a kaboom. Have I pushed the button? Have I stepped on a trap-tile? No, I just triggered the script. Yuck. Although, Equilibrium is one of my favorite missions.
12. Cityscape. 5. Yes, I like that too. It's also a kind of exploration.
13. Cross-country 5. Yes, and that too.
14. Undead invasion = 4
15. Robot Invasion = 4
16. Monster Invasion = 4. I like all types of enemies. If they're in proper environment or their unusual presence is described it the story.

I enjoy them all, with the exception of "Tail". I hate following and/or protecting NPCs in any game, and that includes Thief.
