Yep. But I mean not taking electricity to the modern era of computers, fluorescence, CRTs, common appliances etc. The 'steampunk' look and feel of Thief, with electricity still in the pre-Edison (Faraday, Ohm, Ampere, Orsted) era, fits much better. It's much more organic, primitive, raw.

hikikomori-san, you reminded me earlier of the anticipation I had for sunsets, because that meant it would soon be dark enough to play Thief. Thief is actually the main reason I started putting up room darkening shades & curtains in my computer room - so I didn't have to wait for darkness to play. If they strip Thief of that anticipation I felt, the eagerness, the desire to play, that would be my worst nightmare.
