I play Thief allthe time. Come rain or shine. :p
But I try to avoid playing Thief during strong daylight. With dark, rich graphics, a bright sunny room makes the screen hard to see, even with the gamma thingy on full tilt. :p

exactly. They probably got mesmorized by the power of the bowling balls to knock down all the pins, and wanted to knock down some "pins" of their own. It makes as much sense as "Slipknot made me do it."
Wow, how revolutionary, someone else parroting Michael Moore

I also find playing thief gold at Halloween really good!
Especially playing cragscleft or bonehorde!
It's all very nostalgic! Sometime when i'm bored at work i catch myself starting to whistle that tune that the hammers whistle!
One time soe guy in my office actually whistled it back like we are some kind of secret group or something....
I guess in some way we all are, not many people know about the originals or let alone own them. I have all three and my fiancee constantly tries to get me to "throw away those old games!" to which i reply simply "No dear, let me make you a nice hot chocolate" :)

Not trying to derail the thread here, but for the record, I would like to say that my mind about this was made up before that movie even came out.
I am
not a Michael Moore fan.
On with the thread!

At night. :D Or in the evening (and stretching into night :D). The main reason is that my monitor's way too dim to play in broad daylight, especially with the sun right behind it... Can't see a thing.
Otherwise I would play Thief 24 hours a day. :D

I like to play on rainy days. I never get tired of the ambient sounds of Thief. After all these years and literally dozens of play-throughs (per game) plus hundreds of fan missions I still get lost in the atmosphere. Hearing guards whistling from down the hall is music to my ears and hearing zombies wheezing in the distance with lightning from outside my window is magic!
Good luck to the dark mod team in helping to bring fresh life to this experience. If I could chose 1 thing to forget in life it would be my Thief experience so I could enjoy it for the first time all over again. Anyone make a Thief Morning After? Didn't think so.

Lol. When I played Thief :DP for the first time, I was actually scared of playing it at night, what with the haunted missions 'n all. :o
But since then, nothing but a quiet evening to replay a truely awesome game. :thumb:

Ha! Me too! (Of course I was like 12 at the time) I remember getting to cragscleft and trying to run through the mines as fast as possible. Those narrow, dark passages scared the crap out of me everytime, zombies or no.

It was 6 years ago. My brother gave me a cd called "thief:The Dark Project" but I didn't play it for a long time. One night when I bored of fifa 2000, I decided to install "The dark project". That night, something is changed in my life:)
In cragscleft prison level, while walking in the corridors in the mine, saw a poor dead miner. When I approached it, "poor miner" woke up and took most of Garret's health and few years from my life :P so meeting with the zombie was not a good experience for me.
Playing thief game at night and after drinking(not too much unless you like vomitting and drop a sleep) is strongly recommended :)
