I just wanted to say that the Italian version was far from being inelengant. On the contrary, in my opinion it was very well written. Maybe something got lost after the translation. It's a pity. :(

Tommy's hut is in a village with one stationary guard and what looks like a magical barrier in front of a cave opening. His hut is the larger one and the note you are looking for is upstairs on the floor under a table.
