The small key is used on the lockbox for the exit gate in the same room in which you took that key from the ghost.

How do I get into Jonas' room? I have a bedroom key, but that doesn't work.
I also can't get past the gates to what looks like a private library.
The only quest I have left is to figure out what is causing the curse (I think - the exact phrase slipped my mind).
I've done everything I can think of including ringing the bell.
I have three relics. I have a scroll from Captain James, I have a book. I've been through the crypt. I just can't for the life of me figure out what to do next.

For Jonas' room, you need to go to Samuel's room and look in the wall niche above the bed. There you will find the secret study key. In the secret study you will find the key to Jonas' room.
If I understood you correctly, you "have" the three relics. You need to do something with them. The instructions are in Jonas' room (see above).

Okay, this is a problem. All my objectives ticked off, and I used the small key in the secret study, beside the ghost, and found the little passageway, which is presumably my way out. Only the mission does not end, and what's worse, I cannot skip to the next mission. Ctrl Alt Shift End doesn't seem to work. Could someone tell me, am I supposed to hit the Ctl and Alt keys at the same time, then the Shift and End keys? Or is there another combo? Very frustrating to get three quarters of the way through and not be able to continue.
Edit: I figured out how to skip to the next level after all.
And I just wanted to add that this mission was absolutely superb. Just superb.

Amazing mission and very hard. Nearly 6 hours recorded gameplay plus extensive reloads I'm guessing 12 hours plus. Had to come here twice for info. One was my fault. I missed the floorboards in Jonas' room even though I spent 20 or 30 minutes searching. The other was that scroll on Captain James which I had no idea he had. I don't recall a clue. Anyway, even after reading it here it took me over two hours to reach him because all the undead were about and I just could not find any way except through the courtyard (even though I'd been there before I couldn't remember how - but now I think it was via the basement.)
I was almost dead very few tools and weaponry. Probably better than the first two levels. My only nitpicking would be a clearer map. Oh yes and loot was very hard. I played on Hard but it was harder to find all the loot than most Expert levels imo. Again I was forced to kill everything in order to run around reasonably or it would (seriously) have taken me 20 or 30 hours to ghost I reckon purely because of navigational dyslexia and being blocked by AI. Most of my time was spent trying to figure out how to get to places even when I'd already been there. One metal door on the stairs near the start I never found a key. I'll search this thread. Tons more loot and secrets I have no idea where that could be because I've scoured the place.

Hooray, the objectives don't tick off at all.
Question: where to drop the Water Relic? I tried dumping it into latrine, but nothing happened :(
edit: nevermind. So much for "within the abbey"...
edit 2: I performed the ritual, should this tick the curse objective off? Also, what exactly fulfills the "Why are some Hammerites still alive" objective?

Don't feel like starting the mission again for the sake of objectives; the last question from my previous post remains. If I did what needed to be done, I'm off to the last one.
