In Mission 5, the escape from the secret mj12-base, I cannot find Paul in the medical centre or anywhere else. I've searched some walkthroughs already, but all of them just say, he is there. So where exactly will I find him???
For if I don't find him, Daedalus will not give me the code to escape the base.
If there is anyone who is able to help me, please post the sollution.

Are you mixing up medical lab and medical centre? Or you cause some troubles in medical lab and Paul run away from it. I have seen Paul around the small office before medical centre once, but never further far away from there.

When approaching the "bed" where Paul normally would be found (I've seem him in the level editor at that position), the doctor standing there says something like "Oh my god, he ran away" or "He escaped" or something.
Well, maybe I've caused some kind of trouble, for I've killed all of the guards, but still I cannot find Paul anywhere in the complete level; I've searched every little room (at least I hope so), even the air shafts and everything, but he is not there; and also not in the small office you talked about.

I'm not sure, but I think the "He escaped" is talking about you, because they said that to me too, even when Paul was there. It sounds like you're at the right place. Paul missing may be a bug. Do you have the latest Single-player patch?
But I may not know what I'm talking about. Good luck...

I also kill all the guards (I hate MJ12 very much), but Paul is still there. I even release mutant animals to kill guards, Paul is alerted but not disappears. It should be a bug.

This happened before AND after installing the single-player patch.
Yesterday I loaded a save from the very beginning in this mj12-base; I just got rid of the first guard and freed this NSF-guy, I think Miguel is his name. Then I crouched through the tunnel towards the command centre where I had a look at the security console. There I especially looked at the camera in the medical centre, showing the bed where Paul is sopposed to be (when loading the level into the editor he stood there), but he was NOT there at all.

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/frown.gifI had problems with Paul before, too. When helping him to escape the 'ton hotel, he disappeared if I did not look at him for about ten seconds or something.
Even this Miguel-guy disappeared when I ordered him to brake out and did not look at him for some time.
Perhaps this is a bug (at least in the German version, which I have); but what can I do against it???

It is quite normal for Paul to disappear from the 'ton when you lose sight of him.
As for your problem, a couple of suggestions:
Try going back to a savegame before the MJ12 facility, i.e. one from the 'ton or Battery Park.
Don't use Quicksave. It's bad trouble.
Try copying the MJ12 map directly from the CD into your Deus Ex/Maps directory.

I tried loading an old savegame (Battery Park), but this did not change anything.
I also tried copying the map from the CD-ROM into the maps-directory, but this did not change anything, too.
At last, after copying the map into the maps-directory, to load the Battery-Park-savegame, but still Paul was nowhere to be found.
Thanks for the help so far, but, as you can see, I still cannot go on enjoying the game, so I would be very thankful for other advice/help etc.

One other option: Try copying the map files from the CD into the appropriate Save directory.
