Just out of curiosity, was there ever any hints or indications that was where the statue was? I don't remember finding anything in the mission to that effect. :confused:

No, not that I found. I just got suspicious when I could cut the other tapestries, but not that one, and I stumbled on the key accidentally. :)

Yeah, I picked, stabbed, shot, slashed, burned, hit, leaned, threw, and stomped my way all around that tapestry before I ever realized there was something behind it. And then I couldn't figure out what it was nor did I have the key.

for what its worth, I do not think you are supposed to get that key in that manner. there is a way to get behind that picture.
I had the key but did not know what to do with it.

It may be a very old mission (one of the very first) but NewDark has brought it back to life (it looks better than ever) and now you can finish it on expert, whilst at the same time collect the keys and the statue in the way the author originally intended (meaning no short cuts or cheats). :D
