Self awareness is a flaw. If the being acts upon what is right, as opposed to what he thinks is right then perhaps it could work. I still have my doubts.
Also there would be evidence to support the isolation of militant factions if the global communications network was brought down. If the forces of MJ12 and UNACTO could be utilised by a larger, just body such as the Illuminati, then hope could be brought, by giving humanity back the illusion of self control.

Who says the Illuminati are just? Morgan Everett? BAH! I stand by my original statement. The fourth ending is the only morally correct one.

I have infiltrated your systems...I have complete control over every one of your neural motor and linguistic movements...come to me and merge...merge with me...merge with me...

In the world of Deus Ex, all of the endings could prove morally wrong. Yet if we take things on the face of them, with the experiences we have grafted from the game itself, then it appears that the Illuminati are indeed just.

well, considering that no level in Deus Ex ever took place in the forest (or even hinted that such wild places still exists), I chose to destroy everything, since I wanted people to get a little "wild" again and start nurturing nature. Then Deus Ex II would start off with JC swinging down on a vine eating a banana and hitting people on the back of the head with coconuts. Yeah, next time, put at least one jungle or wild level in there game developers...like Goldeneye or something.

Through the ruins of corporate humanity. I don't believe in any situation society would allow all nature to die.

Did you have a chat with Lucius de Beers? I wouldn´t call Everett just.
X on 23/7/2001 at 19:32
Indeed I did. However know that the Illuminati are not a dictatoral body. While Morgan Everett would have control over many aspects surely Denton and Du Claire would also have substantial input into affairs. Not to mention the Situationilists, who Du Claire would no doubt call upon. Do not forget that de Beers is still the Illuminatus.

So you're saying an organization that controls the entire world incognito is not a dictatorship? Well, yes, I guess it would be an Oligarchy now that I think about it. My point was, the fact that they try and rule the world completely hidden from view does not negate the fact that they are trying to rule the world.

Plus, folks should consider what Everett and Dowd were saying about Area 51: Save the base, JC, let's use the tech to our own ends. I think it would be entirely in character for Everett to try to do exactly what Bob Page tried to do with it.
And what happens to Helios, I wonder?
