With the introduction of NewDarkloader I am interested in know what proportion of players have moved over to NewDarkloader from FMsel.
My reason for enquiring is that back in June 2014 I put together the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144205) FM Loader Guide because FMsel has the annoying habit of listing the FM's zip title rather than the missions title, and for those of us with loads of FM's in our folders finding the mission we wanted to play via FMsel can be a nightmare.
However with the introduction of NewDarkloader that lists all the missions with the vast majority of correct titles, I'm curious as to the need to continue maintaining the FM Loader Guide.
I wanted to run a poll for this question but I don't seem to be able to work out how to do that :grr:
So general comments as to how much use the FM loader Guide is with the introduction of NewDarkloader will be appreciated.
Thanks :thumb:

I still use FMSel. I never encountered the described problem either.

NewDarkLoader. Haven't looked back, since.

I only use FMSel nowadays. FM makers can remedy the name appearing as the zip's name too, you can put a .ini file with the proper name in the archive.

I've been using DarkLoader 4.3 since I started playing FMs. LOL.

I am still using DarkLoader 4.3, although I'm planning on buying a new laptop soon, and then I'll switch to NewDarkloader.

@ marbleman
Wait until you have 900+ missions in your folder, then you'll see where the problem is.
Just checked and the FM Loader Guide has been viewed 10,500 times so I'm guessing that a number of people do find it useful, so yes I'll carry on maintaining for the foreseeable future, but it would still be nice to see what sort of proportion of players use which FM Loaders and why.
Edit: This thread could also have a side effect of seeing Voodoo47 exploding like a zombie hit with multiple fire arrows....sorry Voodoo, didn't mean to cause (too much) bodily damage :laff:

I'll probably never have 900+ missions :)
Also, what is wrong with creating a folder for each FM and unzipping the archives into them? It's clean, and FMSel displays the folder name (whatever you name it).

I'm still using DarkLoader 4.3, it works fine enough and I have all my mission comments saved in there so I'm going to probably keep it forever :D
