Anyone who loves the real Thief games and doesnt like Thieves Guild is just being a spoiled snob. Everything about the first two games is legendary and classic, every moment designed to be sopped up like a biscuit in gravy. Deadly started the hideous downward slide and with NuThief landed dead center in the bog of mediocre gaming detritus. Hopefully it will finally just die right here, before...

There are many many fan missions better than Thieves' Guild.

Obviously, but Thieves' Guild feels more like a typical FM - a labour of love with a lot of effort put into it, enjoyable to play, but not on the level of polish and iconic status as something like Assassins. Still better than Casing/Masks.

Deadly Shadows...
Eventhough I was informed/encouraged by a few respectable members of this community to play the first two(I really appreciated their support I might add),I couldn't get into them and gave up..
When you start a franchise from the third game,it's a very different experience..and to be honest,I didn't even know it had it's predecessors by then..I thought it was a standalone game...anyway,I have huge respect for those classics and the people who prefer them..
BTW,the fourth one shouldn't even be in this poll IMHO..as soon as I watched some of it's walkthrough,I realized it's not even a thief game and a disgrace to the series and it's fans...

I'd just like to give an honourable mention to TDM.
I hadn't played it when I voted, I have to say it absolutely rocks :cool:
Not played that many missions yet but a couple of standouts so far are "The Heart of Lone Salvation", "Lords & Legacy" & "The Rift".
If you haven't tried it I can recommend getting it, it's rapidly becoming my favourite.
