I'm not sure if those sound files came with the Dark Project, because I don't remember ever hearing or seeing a female servant the first time I played it through

All this talk about voice acting has got me considering a little more strongly if maybe I should try my hand at it. How many people can do an accurate "Benny" I wonder? Any need for one? What about other types of voices? What style and range are usually needed? What kind are hard to find? Any more advice for male and female Taffers looking to maybe try it?

Also, do you have a link to that headset, dlw6? Or, does anyone have a better recommendation for what mic and software someone should buy?

Is there even a general census thread or whatnot that answers all these questions without having to search the boards?

Thanks for the tutorial, Don! Much appreciated. I think I will play with that when I get a few moments undisturbed and see what I can do. Plus maybe see how well I can deliver lines. (Although, how do you practice this without a script and without hearing how the other person is delivering theirs?)

I'd like to do this before I go advirtising my services. Get a feel for how well I can do it. lol And maybe get a little mini-voice-portfolio (or would that be a voicolio?) together so FM authors could hear what they're asking for. I think its something I could have a lot of fun doing. I am not sure I can do 'other' voices, but I could try, or I could just make my own available. :)

Now all I need is some confidence. I have been told I have a really nice voice. . .but believing that is another matter. Then again. . .I'm just doing this for fun, right? So as long as it works for FM and I have fun doing it, thats the main thing. *nods to herself and tries to keep that in mind* Still, a confidence booster would help. lol

As mentioned in the tutorial, I have a script (usually provided by the FM author) sharing screen space with the recording software. I don't need to hear what the other person is saying, I just do one voice at a time to keep it sounding consistent. The game does conversations one line at a time anyway. For practice, load up an OM film or voice file, play it, then record yourself trying to do that same voice.

Oh God, how I would like to make new lines at that actrice in my FM, if I should know who she was.... :p :p :p
