6 Grammys in 14 years is an achievement alright. Unfortunately, 6 grams in 14 minutes was a bit too much.

Irritating voices transcend all racial barriers.

Amy Winehouse was also 27 (also Robert Johnson & Jimi Hendrix, just to show it isn't a racial thing). I'm telling you, die young and you're a kind of tragic antihero. Die middle aged and it's just a sad number. Unless you're Elvis or Obi Wan Kanobi, then you transcend reality.

Apparently Speedy Egbert couldn't find any Iraq War Veteran or gay teen suicide funerals to protest. Sundays can be slow.
It is sad that celebrities don't have better access to non-celebrity therapy. It must be a curse having the usual personal and functional barriers to seeking help, compounded by the inevitability that your most personal and challenging experience, at a time of extreme vulnerability, will be fodder for gossip rag speculation and grocery line up curiosity.
Goodbye Whitney. I wish you might have found peace in life.

Lets not forget Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison, who also died at 27. :(

Uh ... It's the 27 Club. That was my whole point. Nobody talks about the 48 club. Just a few stars seem to get exemptions for non-natural deaths into middle age and still get treated like pop royalty ... Elvis, I guess Michael Jackson (sort of). Houston unfortunately doesn't quite get there, but if she had been younger I think she would have.

Didn't she almost have it all...but a life worth living.
