Welcome to the forum, Brian! Though apparently you've been here for six or seven years. But we're glad you decided to introduce yourself. Are your children Thief players as well?
Yep, they have been introduced to it, they find it a bit too fiddly though, but they are only 8 and 11 though, and prefer the PS3....give me a PC anyday.
Lets see if I can't get thief going on the raspberry PI.....

I was Brooklyn, then was 10Brooklyn01, now thanks to Al_B and Nightwalker, am back to Brooklyn, circa June 01.
I have played the entire archive of all Thief FM's at least 5 times over. I am eternally grateful to all the FM Authors for their devoted work to provide someone like me with endless hours of spiritual entertainment. Cannot find the words to thank you enough....
Bosh on 15/5/2013 at 11:38
Hello - I am Bosh.
The world of Thief came into my life by accident about 6 years ago. I was lurking in a supermarket, rather bored and looking for adventure beyond selecting fruit and veg, when Mr Garrett caught my eye. The series was unknown to me, but gut instinct won and the purchase was made. Since then, Mr G and I have had many adventures - me huddled in a darkened room over my laptop, him looking for a way to sneak passed some taffing obstacle, or find the switch to the secret you just know is in that room. Finding a rooftop vantage, befriending shadows, eavesdropping, and stealing shiny pretty things - well, if I could climb into my screen and really be there I would! (Er, I possibly need to get out more...!)
Thanks this forum and to all FM authors who have kept my love of Thief alive with many, many fantastic tales and adventures. Speaking of which, Sturmdrang has finished downloading. Cup of tea. Check. Biscuits. Check. Blackjack. Check. Maybe see you in the shadows on the other side...?! Bosh x

Nice to meet you, Brooklyn and Bosh. It would be nice to know a bit more about you, Brooklyn but we're glad you're here even so. And Bosh, the first question that comes to mind, of course, is why you were "lurking" in a supermarket... :sly:

Hello everybody,
My name is Sean and this is my first ever post! I'm 22 years old and I've just graduated from University with a degree in Zoology. My taffer University didn't have a degree to become a Keeper, or I'd surely have done that. :cheeky:
I unfortunately only found about the existence of FM's late in 2012. I've only just got around to making an account on this forum, although I've been using it for a while for handy hints when I get stuck! Since discovering FM's and finally understanding how the hell to use Darkloader :p, I've played about 40 missions and have another 50 or so downloaded and ready to play. Being a huge thief fan for many years you can imagine my excitement when I first discovered there were hundreds of missions available. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first, knowing nothing about editing, I wondered if fans could ever truly make missions that were as good as the originals. That was until I played my first FM, the famous T2X. Any doubts I had were immediately silenced and I was left speechless. I was so amazed at the effort and time that go into these missions, and I am eternally grateful to anybody that has ever created one, because I love them so much!
My story of how I discovered thief may upset a few die hard fans. I was wondering around a game shop many years ago, looking for a new game to play. I then discovered a lovely little game for a reasonable price: Thief: The Metal Age. And so Thief 2 was the first one I played! :o After thoroughly enjoying that game I looked for more but could not find Thief 1 anywhere. Eventually leading to me playing TDS before TDP. It was only when I downloaded Steam that I managed to play TDP which was a fantastic game!
Thanks again for all these wonderful missions, and keep them coming! :D Maybe one day I'll make my own...

Welcome to the forums. I have to say I envy you a little as you've still got all those wonderful missions to play - I think there are over a thousand odd so should keep you busy for a few weeks. :)

Thanks Tannar, uncadonego. Vae, it truly is a great community, especially with people who are as encouraging and supportive as you among it's ranks, and those traits reveal a great deal.:D

Ah, hello Tannar - thanks for the welcome (and everyone else who said hello!). Oh, lurking makes the tedium of supermarkets slightly less tedious. Sometimes I hang out by the old meat, torment a tangerine or simply add more holes to doughnuts. As a girl who really hates shopping, one has to find ways to spice up the ordeal! :laff: Oh, enjoyed The Drymian Codex very much :D
