OK, I finally found this thread thanks to nickie so I can officially introduce myself:
35, married, one son aged five. I'm a biologist, currently working as part-time lecturer. And I guess I'm more of a Pagan since I'm rather lame when it comes to technology but I would probably survive in a forest :)
EDIT: forgot to add - I have been playing Thief since TTDP was released in my country, that was in 1999. I was around 20 then so I like to assume Garrett and I might be age-mates ;)

Welcome to the forum, WoodsieLady! Thanks for posting in this thread. It's always great to see new members arrive and introduce themselves. How long have you been playing Thief?

I don't think I have ever introduced myself on the forums. My name is Heather. I'm married, no kids yet, and I'm 28. I'm a part-time college student right now, but I'll be getting into the dental hygiene program at my college full time next semester. I'm involved in student senate at my college and was recently elected as president for 2014-15.
I have played Thief since The Dark Project came out in demo form and have always had a passion for playing it. It's one of those traditions for me to play TDP and TMA once every year or so. Lately I've been really getting into fan missions. I got to test Exile by Sensut and that was great fun!
I've used the forums for years, perhaps since 2004, but I think I let it languish a few times so my re-register date is 2012. TTLG is a staple of my Thief playing experience and I don't think I would have stayed with it as long as I have without all the excellent fan missions out there!

Thanks for coming out of the shadows and letting us know about you. I don't think I could play the OMs that often. I'd probably get burned out. And I've been spoiled by all the excellent fan missions.

Hi, my name is Tim. I'm married with 2 kids and I work as instructor at the local college teaching cardiac arrythmia studies (which greatly interferes with my Thief gameplaying time). I've been playing Thief since around 2000. I was over at a friends house and he bought it, told me it was cool but kind of "slow paced". Anyhow, he gave it to me and here I am almost 14 years later. I've enjoyed reading posts, and definitely enjoy the fan missions. I have developed the utmost respect for the authors over the years, and contiune to be amazed by their dedication to the game.
The best thing about Theif for me is being able to introduce the game to my son, who is 9. He is highly intelligent and enjoys the game very much. Sometimes he plays one that gets a bit too scary for him (i.e. A Better Tomorrow), but I'm glad he is not playing GTA shoot em up games and enjoys a game that requires thought, patience, and some form of skill development. Plus it's just fun as hell.
Anyhow, "back to work". I've yet to cancel a class over a FM release, but I've come close :cheeky:
Be Well

I'm glad you decided to post! It's nice to know a bit more about the people who hang out at the forum and maybe now that it's been bumped up, some other people will decide to introduce themselves too. :)

I agree! Thanks for posting. I'm sure most of us here have come close to ditching work for FM time on more than one occasion. Some of us have actually done it, of course ... :cheeky:

I'm Chris Martin
I am a Criminal Justice Major at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas pursuing for my career in law enforcement.
I own multiple firearms and have a Concealed Handgun License and go to my local shooting range for practice, should I need to defend my life from government or a dangerous person.
I am a member of a gun rights organization, Open Carry Texas, which our goal is to get our state government to pass less-restrictive gun laws for law-abiding citizens, like me.
I have also become interested in politics because our current federal government has reached to the point that it has given itself too much power and it is up to the states and citizens to put the power back to us.
I became interested in the Thief series when my mom purchased Gold and The Metal Age and before long, I became in love with the series. (Nu Thief sucked though :tsktsk:) I still own the CDs that my mom had bought those many years ago.
Once I realized that there were hundreds of fan missions out there, holy s***. To this day I'm still a active player of the original series and I have recently joined TTLG because this is the "Mecca" of the Thief series and I would love to be a part of it.

Welcome to the forum, Chris, and thanks for introducing yourself! It's always wonderful to see new members.
I'm thinking you might want to add a blackjack and sword to that armory of yours. :cheeky: And maybe a flash bomb or two, some rope arrows ...
