Sorry for the necro, but this seems like a cool thread! I like to see who everyone is :)
I'm 28 years old, and a professor at an Ivy League business school. Basically, I do research on how firms use public disclosures to manipulate their product market rivals, and teach b-school students how to be effective corporate managers and make smart investment decisions. Oh, and I'm getting married next fall!
In my free time, I love to play sports, music, and Thief.
Also, I'm a sucker for riddles/puzzles/paradoxes/mind benders/etc... if you have any good ones, please share!

I just spent way too much time reading through this thread again. I stumbled upon my post from nearly 13 years ago (the cringe is real, but hey, I married my then "amazing girlfriend"), and realized how much this community has had an impact on my life. Thank you to everyone introducing yourselves, and keep it up! :thumb:

Hi I'm Karen, I'm 47, I live with my partner in the UK who indulges me by letting me sit in dark rooms swearing at a computer screen for hours on end, no kids, I've been playing Thief pretty much since it came out (not continuously though), I'm loving the fan missions that are coming out and reckon my favourites would have to be the Calendra series, I'm really going to have a go at doing an FM myself one day once I work up the nerve .. ok and find some talent as well. I occasionally dabble in fan fiction too.
Well as this thread has been resurrected time for an update
I'm now 59, where the hell did the time go , still living with the same partner, who still indulges me as I still swear at computer screens in dark rooms, still no kids - obviously the cabbage patch isn't big enough, still playing excellent fan missions, did eventually write an FM which a few people liked despite a strange bug which was never sorted out & only some people got, was coming up to retirement & not happy about what's happening in the UK as it pretty much means I can't, apologies for the whinge, now self employed as a consultant/systems analyst writing software for a US based company,
Thank you to all the authors for the many years of entertainment

Ahoy hoy. I'm Nick. I'm 31, live with my girlfriend in Minneapolis, MN. I've been a certified veterinary technician for about 5 years now. Previously just worked stock and clerk jobs before finishing college. I've been a thief player for quite some time. The first actual thief game I was able to play through was TDS (only because I didn't get a solid pc until about 2008) and I loved it. I have memories of first playing the dark project in about 2000, but that was on some friends rinky-dink rig that couldn't run it well. Seriously, those requirements were high back then!
I like single-player games, older stuff, crpgs and the like. I still play a good deal of old nintendo/playstation classics. I also disc-golf when it's decent weather out.
I've released 1 FM to the community. Dromed, at least for me, is a way to channel and center myself after the stress of my work. Even if it is just going into the editor to do some minor adjustments or if I'm on a really good flow, I just love using it. I don't plan on stopping. Barring any major life changes of course!:D

Well, OK. My Name is Steve, I'm 26 Year Olds and I live in Germany. I have a beautiful wife and a 1 year old daughter. I'm working as a bricklayer (I think this is the right word for maurer?) many People's knows me as Theker but now I'm under a new Name "Terra". I have released many FMs and my biggest project the Acideus Saga will be my masterpiece. In my free time I working on my car or train in a gym or working with dromed. But I also spend lots of time for my daughter. :)

My name is Kevin, and I'm 22. I live on a dairy farm in northeast Wisconsin. I recently graduated college with a degree in game design (with a concentration in computer science), and I'm currently looking to get a job in the video game industry.
My first experience with Thief was the Thief II demo, "The Unwelcome Guest." I remember playing it back in elementary school on my Windows 2000, but I could never get very far. Only in high school did I finally revisit the demo and finish it, after which I decided to buy the entire trilogy. My nostalgia for that demo is also how I chose my username.
I've released one FM so far, though I do plan to make more. I've also put together an interactive map of The City based on the "Mapping out The City" project on this forum. I've even written a few walkthroughs and lootlists (just for the fun of it), among other things.
In addition to Thief, I enjoy playing Pokémon, Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda, Dishonored, and many more. Oddly enough, all my video games have either been on Nintendo handhelds or PC - I've never owned a console. When I'm not gaming, I like to spend my free time reading, writing, map-making, and watching movies.
I'm also very much a completionist. I'm not satisfied unless I've found every piece of loot, every secret, every achievement, and so on. Though it doesn't bother me too much when I miss stuff the first time around - that just gives me a reason to play it again! :)

And you managed to inveigle your now 'amazing wife' into contributing with her excellent voice acting. I hope she can keep doing that.
And finally, there is not enough Esme in the FM forum. I would love to see another mission from you.
