Surprised Scots and RBJ haven't weighed in yet.
My two favourites are Oban and Springbank. Springbank's scent is a little cooler (not sure how best to describe it) than Oban, so I prefer it, but they're both really smooth.
Glenfiddich is okay, and will do when the bar doesn't have anything else.
Ballantine's is something of a family favourite, but it seemed a little too sweet to me when I tried it.

Being a card-carrying Grammarstapo agent, I must agree with Zylonbane that the thread title tends to induce bleeding of the eyes.
As for Scotch whiskey, I've never tried it; but all spirits taste pretty much the same to me. I imagine it's rather like what gasoline might taste like, although gasoline smells better. Give me a good ale any time.

Johnny Walker Blue and Black Labels for me, back in the day. Excellent with a nice Porterhouse and a plumb baked potato. Also, some Roquefort or Bleu cheese somewhere in the meal can complement the smokiness nicely.
I don't really drink liquor anymore, though. I stick to beer and maybe a Margarita/shot of El Jimador @ a Mexican joint.

A couple of missed punctuation points hardly constitutes what that implied. I was rather tired when I typed that, so a couple of grammatical irregularities is to be expected. I'm not overtly concerned about it heh.
If you don't care about your post, why should we?

I used to prefer finer single malts, but over time I have found that many low priced blends are just as good as quite a few high priced single malts (there are exceptions, of course). Quite a few scotches and other single malt whiskeys out there are overpriced for what you get.
Thats hardly a scotch thing. Most alcoholic beverages offer diminishing improvements in quality as price goes up.
Interesting link on that topic. Its the first paragraph thats interesting, the rest of the article is just trying to defend the taste testers.

Stitch needs a glass of scotch.

I must admit, the first thing I thought when I read the thread title was not Scotch related, but more like "holy shit guys what is that apostrophe doing there"
I do not like Scotch. Actually, that's not true. I wouldn't drink it out of choice, shall we say. Dark rum, on the other hand... <3

Can't say I have the in on what these two are thinking, but this subject has been discussed quite a few times already. They've weighed in before.

Whilst not Scotch, I do like Jameson's Irish whiskey on the rocks.

EVERYONE STOP DRINKING SCOTCH UNTIL RBJ AND SCOTS HAVE THEIR SAY - YOU COULD BE DRINKING THE WRONG BRAND.
