Oh yeah, like YOU'D complain if Garrett went shirtless through most of Thief like The Prince in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" did
Actually, I would. I had a Prince of Persia analogy in mind if this type of conversation ever came up. The whole hyper-sexed shirtless, muscley Prince of Persia dude was the primary reason I never played that game.
One of the things that interested me so much about Garrett and caused me to invest in his character more was how little of his body, especially his face you actually see. Plus, a shirtless Garrett would be totally out of context in relation to the game. . .you don't go around flashing as much pale skin as possible if you're trying to stay hidden. . which brings me to my next point.
I wouldn't change Zaya's outfit that much, apart from extending the cloth of her top up to her neck and giving her a hood that hides her face more because, like I said, pale skin shows up very well in the darkness, particularly against black clothing and also, at various points in the game Zaya occassionally placed in very cold snowy climates and when you're in a cold climate, your chest over your heart (and basically your torso in general) is one of the most important things to cover; it's your thermal area and needs to be kept warm.
I'd have her dressed somewhat like this. .

. . .mind, that's an old picture and not very good. .erg. .. I should do another Zaya drawing.
. . . . . .no. :tsktsk:
Actually, something more like this: GBM's version of Zaya

I think it's awesome. . I mean, at least she has a facial expression. .

You know I was goofing, right? :p
Hmmm, really? I don't remember him being all that "hyper-sexed" OR "muscley" till POP2 when they started doing the "Moody Prince" thing. It's really not THAT bad, honestly; the actual shirtless prince IN the first game isn't as "muscley" as the box art makes him out to be, and the actual game itself is so beautiful and culturally atmospheric (at least in a "fictional Arabia" sense). Great story; great romance; great visuals; great everything. I'd honestly at LEAST TRY it; it really is a good game with or without shirtless Prince,
REALLY. :)

Ahhhh, the "Mysterious Stranger" outlook. :cheeky: I noticed how they made Garrett's suit more "piecemail covering" in T3 though. There was a thread sometime back where Zorodius added sleeves to the Garrett model for T3....

....but the link died long before I could ever download it. I'm not sure the JohnP package I downloaded has that EXACT texture or not though. Point is I get what you mean because I like sleeved Garrett a bit better myself.

It's a good drawing I think. I'd like to see a head-to-toe version if you make another; get your artistic view on Zaya in that way. :)
I'd think something similar to a turtleneck or a long collar that buttons-up on the side would look nice. Not like you can really see yourself in a Thief FM (not counting T3) without a scout orb or a third-person camera scene, but who says she didn't put on a coat before she went there? :p Can't say i'd want her face hid though, but that's just me (and yes, I get that the point of the hood is to HIDE someone's face).
It's not bad at all. Not sure what you mean by "facial expression" though, since both your above work and GBM's here make her look like she's really P'ed-off about something. I've seen quite a few "angry" Zaya pics and I haven't really seen any (that I remember) "upbeat" pictures of Zaya (Not counting the "expressionless" pictures). Strange to say, I know, but it's true. Kinda makes me wish I could draw better; could make a picture of Zaya radiating a physical posture of daring confidence and a little less anger in her eyes. Something that says "I'm aware, but relaxed" maybe.
That's Pretty. Who did that one? :D

It really isn't on topic at all but what the hell, I just need to post (

I can only agree with Lady Taffer: Hiding as much skin as possible (including your face) as a thief is the way to go. Zaya is a thief, right?
I have always found it stupid how female warriors and alike are very often dressed up in as little clothes/armor as possible. If we compare with the male counterparts, they are much more often dressed appropriately for war or whatever task they're up to. What are the authors trying to say? That females have thicker skin or what? (Yes, I do know why the authors are doing this, but I don't accept it.)
Anyway, back on topic:
I voted for the female character with the lovely voice in T2. I think she was a servant, so that's what I voted for.

That's a book, write? :p

. . .Um. . well Zaya's cousin did KIND OF get murdered.
I'd be pretty pissed off if that happened to one of my relatives. Anyway, the whole theme of the story is Zaya's long quest for revenge, and inbetween she talks about how much she hates the city she's in and the people in it. . that doesn't sound like someone who'd be particularly happy.
What I mean by facial expression is that in a lot of the pictures of her in the briefing art and the cutscenes her face is completely
blank. If they made her frown a little bit more, or had her eyes widen at the right times. . little things like that would have helped, but no, most of the time she looks vaguely stoned.
Anyway, thanks for the compliment. I really should do another Zaya pic. .:thumb:

Ok ... um... I'd go for the Pagan chick in Thief 3.. darn can't remember her name.. but I just found myself standing in front of her just so she would say, "Why do you stare so Thiefsie!" or something like. Oooh that gets me arrows quivering...
Yeah and I wouldn't turn Viktoria away either.. :erm:
